FROM THE MAYOR
ANZAC Day
With ANZAC Day fast approaching, I would like to acknowledge the
work by Works Operation Co-Ordinator, Trevor Hondow and the staff
members involved, in the detailed edging and trimming at the Village
Green surrounding the Institute. The level of detail will contribute to
the commemorative monument ensuring all is in order for the day.

Rehabilitation of Lake Charra
During the summer months, Council, with the cooperation of the
proprietors of the Lakeside Caravan Park undertook work to keep the
water level of the lake at a certain height which we believe was
successful in reducing the offensive odour associated with the lake.
Council has engaged Australian Water Environments to assist with the
next stage of works with the end result being the rehabilitation of this
lake.

Baby bounce is more than just a story time aimed at
children in the first year of life. It is a language enrichment
program which we hope will be a lively, interactive &
stimulating way for parents & caregivers to share songs,
rhymes, reading aloud, lap-riding, exercises, action rhymes
& lullabies with their children. Big brothers & sisters along
with parent’s, grandparents & caregivers are also very

ROBE COMMUNITY BUS MAY 2015
The bus driver for May 2015 will be: Tessa Levinge 8768 2116 /0427
799 978
The bus runs every Thursday morning for local shopping, bank, post
office, library etc. All Robe residents are welcome to make use of this
service. Please ring the driver or the secretary no later than
Wednesday afternoon if you wish to be included on the run. You will
be picked up at approximately 10.00am and returned to your home
between 12 noon and 12:15pm.
The bus will be going to Mount Gambier on Friday 22nd May 2015, the
driver will be Tessa; please remember to ring her prior to the day if
you intend travelling to Mt Gambier. Should there be any changes;
a notice will be placed on the Lions Notice Board in the front garden of
the RSL Hall. Please note: the bus will not run with less than 2
passengers. It is essential that the driver is contacted to ensure the trip
is made. If you cannot contact Tessa please ring the secretary.
The bus will pick you up at approximately 8.00am and return to Robe
by 5.30pm. The usual donations [$] towards the bus running costs of
each trip is always appreciated.

‘SECOND CHANCE’ THE ROBE LIONS SHOP PROJECT
We have had a successful summer and autumn season. For our
shop to continue to be a service to our community, we need your
ongoing support.
We still require stock for all seasons. At this time of the year it’s
men's jumpers and jackets, women’s jumpers, boys’ and girls’
winter clothes.
Jewellery and handbags are very popular and our visitors always
need towels and blankets.
If you haven't cleaned out your cupboards and wardrobe recently,
then it’s a good indoor job for a cool day.
