It’s that time of year again – Intent to Register. In this issue of CONNECT, we hope to clear up
any questions you may have surrounding this important process. As well, we will touch on
Progression Requirements, information regarding Exchange opportunities and more.
Email [email protected] with any concerns or questions regarding your program. If you need
our attention but are without online access, come to the Counselling Office (SSC 2105) or
phone 519-661-2011. Please note appointment times below:
January - April:

Appointments: Mornings (can be made via email or phone; typically 1 week
wait)
Counselling Drop-ins: 2:00 – 4:00 pm. During the month of March and in
the April exam period, additional drop-in appointments will be available in
the morning from 10:00am-12:00pm

If you are planning to return to Western in September, you must submit your Intent
to Register. Beyond letting us know you will be back in the Fall, your ITR indicates
your planned/preferred program of study. Without completing this online form, you
will not be able to register for courses in the summer.

Terms You Should Know:
Adjudication: assessment of
your eligibility to progress at the
University and/or enter or remain
in a program. Occurs twice a year
in May (based on F/W grades) and
July/August (based on Summer
grades)
student.uwo.ca
Course Repeat: any course
previously attempted. All course
attempts appear on your
transcript, but only the most
recent grade will be included in
your cumulative average. All prior
attempts will have an RNC (Repeat,
No Credit) notation on your
transcript
Antirequisite: courses that
overlap sufficiently in content that
both cannot be taken for credit.
Taking an antirequisite will cancel
out your previous course attempt

Exam Schedule
It’s never too early to begin preparing
for exams! The Office of the Registrar
provides the most accurate final exam
information in both the preliminary
and final stages. Visit the Registrar’s
main page, registrar.uwo.ca, and click
on the Examinations tab to access the
“Preliminary Spring Exam Schedule”.
What You Need to Know About Progression Requirements
Ever wondered what “progression requirements” are and why they’re so important?
Progression requirements are the minimum requirements needed for students to
continue in their programs each year.
Of course, you should strive to surpass these minimums, as higher grades can be
rewarded with scholarships, awards and increased academic opportunity (e.g. Honors
program or graduate school).
Level 1 Progression (you have attempted 3.0-7.5 courses)

 If you still have questions, contact your department’s
undergraduate advisor for confirmation
Submit your application to graduate on the Student Center website,
student.uwo.ca . That’s right, you MUST apply to be eligible to graduate
this Spring before April 30, 2015
