Please tell all of your family members, especially the young drivers in your family as well as their friends, not to throw trash out alongside the roads. Trashing the roads and vandalizing property reflects on us all as a community. Help keep Coventry Clean! 1 From Monique's Desk It is spring time once again. So it’s time for Coventry to do some spring cleaning!! Let’s make our community the best it can be!! Let’s make sure we are all in compliance with our Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions of the Coventry Planned Unit Development. I will be looking into each individual village, inspecting each home with great care. I have noticed there are a few homes in need attention. Below is a list of common violations. Mold & Mildew visible on the homes and fences Absence of screening of garbage receptacles and air conditioning units Boats and recreational vehicles repeatedly parked in driveways Unsightly objects that can be seen from the street Yard trash being dumped in common areas Poorly cared for lawns and landscaping Let’s all work together so as to not detract from the overall quality of our homes as well as our community as a whole. If violations are observed, specific homeowners will receive a notification from the Master Board to correct the observed violation. Please take the time to go over the Disclosure Package that was provided to each home owner when the home was purchased (or provided to the lessor) and take the necessary steps to be in compliance with our guidelines. The purpose of the Covenants and our Architectural Guidelines is to protect the value of your homes, and keep Coventry a desirable community in which to live. With the weather getting warmer our residents will be spending more time outside. Let’s make sure we are all considerate and kind to one another. Let’s keep our dogs on their leashes and the Mutt Mitt containers in need of refilling! Let’s 2 remember that cleaning up after our pets is the polite and courteous thing to do. Let’s also keep your pets on a leash to protect our residents and wildlife. With all of your cooperation, assistance and attention we can keep Coventry the wonderful neighborhood that we all would like it to stay. We welcome any and all comments from homeowners on ways in which our Covenants and Architectural Guidelines can be improved. Thank you for your help in these matters, Monique Blackwell Site Administrator CHOA Letter From the President of The Coventry Homeowners Association Dear Homeowners, Hello Neighbors, “It’s Springtime Again!” Isn’t it nice to know we live in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the York County area?! Coventry remains one of the “prime places to live.” Being centrally located with easy access to interstate, hospitals, recreation, and surrounded by some of the highest rated schools, all contributes to the value of our homes and neighborhood. Some of the value created within our neighborhood is based on the many amenities we have for our family enjoyment. Your Board has been working with the ARC Committee, Beautification Committee, and together we are going to be making some exciting improvements within our neighborhood in 2015. We are very excited about the new playground that will be installed early May in Harvest Lake. There will be a “Grand Opening” with volley ball, ping pong and tennis competitions. We are getting the grills ready for hamburgers, hot dogs and all the fixings. Please come and bring the entire family for a day of good family fun and fun competition. There will be something for everyone, and the kids will have fun trying out the new playground. The excitement starts at 10:00am and runs all the way to 4:00pm. Here is my challenge to you! What is a good neighbor? It is a simple act of caring and giving freely for the welfare of another person or neighbor. Often, we tend to focus on our own needs while overlooking those around us. Imagine how wonderful it would be if we all showed our neighbors respect and friendliness, not speeding in areas where children are known to play, picking up after ourselves and pets, promptly taking the trash totes away from the road, keeping the car stereos down, and maintaining our yards. Imagine knowing your neighbors by name and saying hello when you pass by them, or lending a helping hand when you see the need, giving a smile or a wave of the hand. I challenge you to do at least one act of kindness a week, or every few days, to one of your neighbors. I promise you will be amazed at the results, not only around you, but within you. Again, thank you all for the opportunity to serve you. Your feedback is necessary in helping your Board find solutions to your concerns. Remember, when many talents, ideas, visions and passion come together with a desire to make a difference, unbelievable things will happen for the better of all! Very truly yours Tony D. Collins, Sr. President, Coventry Homeowners Association 3 Coventry Sailfish Swim Team Registration for the Coventry Sailfish Swim Team will be held on Monday April 20th from 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM. It's time for that spring cleaning event known as the Coventry Spring Yard Sale. The newspaper ad will posted by the Association for the entire neighborhood. Official date and time for the neighborhood yard sale is Saturday, May 2nd from 8am to 12pm. Pool Hours of Operation CCRs?? Guidelines?? It's almost time to jump in the pools. Look to the marquis signs to see when pool passes will start to be given out. The pools will open on May 23 with limited hours until June 16. Here's the schedule: We live in a Homeowners Association. Pretty sure you knew that when you bought your place and moved in. I'm sure you got a Disclosure Packet too. Do you know what's inside it? All those pesky rules, restrictions, and guidelines for living here in Coventry. They all originated with the developer of Coventry and/or some of the original residents of the villages you and I live in. Back in the 80's!!! Lots of things have changed since the 80's. Rules and guidelines can be changed too. Since each village has their own tailored Architectural Guidelines, it's up to each respective village to provide updated guidelines to the Architectural Review Committee. Get together with your neighbors, set up a small committee and work it all out. Then it's time to get a consensus (generally two thirds of the homeowners) from the rest of the neighbors in the village and forward that to the ARC. Don't ignore the rule. Fix it. Until then, those are the rules. Coventry neighbors, the Harvest Lake tennis courts will be open for two exciting activities. These activities will take place at the grand opening event of our beautiful new Harvest Lake playground on May 9th. On one court, we will be looking for social tennis players to have some fun playing short sets of tennis. We will also be collecting names, emails and phone numbers of people interested in participating in a Coventry social league. Please bring your racket, wear your tennis shoes and be ready to play. On the other court, we will be setting up modified courts for a demonstration of "USTA 10 and under tennis". Please go to this website to find out more: USTA10andundertennis.com. I will be attending a training at the end of March that will allow me to teach this program. Please plan on attending this fun and exciting new way for children 10 and under to learn the game of tennis. Hope to see you on the courts!
