b Middle School Engineering Camp
Rising 7th, 8th and 9th graders
June 22-26, $250
• The NC State College of Engineering and Craven Community College offers students a fun glimpse into various fields
of engineering by using hands-on, creative investigations
and real-world building activities. Students will design and
build various devices such as a solar boat, power generating windmill, heart valve, robotic arm, glider, solar car,
crane, gravity crash safe car, alternative energy city, and a
speaker. Students also learn programming fundamentals by
programming Lego NXT robots. On final day, students compete with their final projects. Scholarships may be available
for students with demonstrated financial need.
b NEW! High School Engineering Camp
Rising 10th - 12th graders
July 13-17, $300
• High school students will learn to assemble, program and
complete design challenges with a RedBot kit. Students will
learn the basics of autonomous vehicle design and operation. The RedBot’s open source platform allows students
to explore and discover new design challenges beyond the
camp experience. Campers get to keep their RedBot at the
end of the week. The NC State College of Engineering has
partnered with North Carolina Space Grant Consortium and
Craven Community College. Scholarships may be available
for students with demonstrated financial need.
Camp Schedule: Engineering camps run from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.,
