Your Support Brings Smiles
to the CLCC Greenhouse
By Janette Peracchio
The Board of Directors of the Creative Living
Community of CT (CLCC) wish to take this
opportunity to thank our generous supporters
for their contributions through the long winter
of 2014. You may wonder how your donations
are used in the greenhouse and what the
growers and volunteers do each day to create
the tasty and nutritious micro greens that are
sold in the Hartford area. We have 12 adults
who are growers with different skills and
abilities and they come to work each week and
are guided by volunteers at the greenhouse.
There are many jobs to do at work and everyone gets to choose what they enjoy doing, each
time they come to help.
Come visit us at these events!
Here is a sampling of jobs that are enjoyed
each week by our special growers:

Curtis smiles and hums, while he carefully
sifts his fingers through the soil and fills
the growing trays
Melissa smiles as she gently plants the tiny
seeds in straight rows by lightly tapping
the seeder
Andy loves to vacuum; he enjoys keeping
the rugs and main walkway neat and
clean
Richard smiles as he cautiously pulls the
hose around the greenhouse tables and
patiently waters each growing tray
We are so blessed to have our donors because
we know this work would not be done without
your help. When you think of us, smile, and
know we are all smiling too.
Thank you.

I am Eric Carlson and I currently live in Tolland with my
wife Christine and children Ryan and Bella. I currently
work at Cigna as an Underwriting Operations Director and
have been employed with Cigna in Bloomfield since 1996.
I attended the University of Hartford and graduated with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration
with a focus in Actuarial Science. I first discovered CLCC
both through members involved with my church (Emanuel
Lutheran in Manchester) as well as attending some of the
events. As I understood more about the mission and vision of the organization through
speaking with passionate individuals who were currently involved, I became personally
excited about the things CLCC is looking and poised to achieve and felt that I could
help use my time and energies to contribute!
I am Shelbie Fettig and I am a recent high school graduate
who took a year off from college to essentially find who I
am and where I want to go in my life. I am currently serving
as the CT State FFA Reporter and the CLCC Greenhouse
Intern!
I am so grateful to be able to be a part of the CLCC vision.
From the first time I walked into the greenhouse, I knew It
would be the perfect place to spend my time. I chose CLCC
because I wanted to volunteer my time for a place where it
was needed and appreciated. Also, I am still amazed at
how much I am constantly learning as well as all of the
opportunities I get to teach our farmers and volunteers. I never would have imagined
CLCC would effect my life in such a positive and inspiring way. I have decided that
when I attend college, I will be studying Special Education of the Autistic because the
experiences CLCC has given me have shown me the passion I have for working with
people with differing abilities! I am very excited to see what the future holds for our
vision and how I can help!
Have you heard?
Creative Living Community of Connecticut
has become a member of the Birdies for Charity
program!
The Birdies for Charity program is a pledge
based program based on the number of birdies
made by the PGA TOUR professional during
the week of the Travelers Championship.
If 1,500 birdies are made, a $.02 pledge would
be a $30.00 donation to our organization.!!
Simply visit Creative Living Community of CT’s
website to donate, and check out the great
prizes you too could win!!
Many Thanks to our 2013 Donors!!
