Mt. Laurel Spring 2015 Volume 13 Number 1 Letter from the Executive Director Dear Crème Families, Happy spring!! We survived a really cold winter and we are ready to enjoy the outdoors again! With longer days and the ability to get out and about, spring flowers and beautiful new foliage on the trees and shrubs, we can all come out of our hibernation and get a bit more active. Spring is a great time to explore nature with your children and get outside as much as possible. Here at Crème we go outside every day we possibly can in the morning and afternoon. It’s a good idea to dress your child in layers so he/she will be prepared for the ever changing temperatures. It’s also important to remember that open toed shoes are not permitted at Crème, so please do not send your child with them on or buy them for the water park. Stop by T-bear Store to get some short sleeved shirts as well. Kelly Bartolo In April, we will celebrate “Week of the Young Child” with lots of special events for our Crème students to enjoy. I came from Shanghai, China. I am the Mandarin Enrichment Teacher. On Christmas Eve 1995, I immigrated to the USA. Now, I am living in Cherry Hill, New Jersey with my husband and two lovely kids. In fall 1992, after graduating from Shanghai Second Normal College with Bachelor’s degree, I worked in an elementary school in Shanghai as a Chinese teacher, teaching students from 1st to 3rd Grade. Then in 1995, I came to the USA with my husband, who pursued his advanced degree in this country. During our stay on the campus, I started a Chinese learning center. Many Chinese couples sent their kids to the learning center so that their children had the opportunity to learn Chinese. It was quite wonderful. In 1999, we moved to New Jersey, there too, I began to teach Chinese in HuaXia Chinese School, which is statewide weekend Chinese school and has branch schools in many locations of New Jersey/New York/Pennsylvania. I taught Chinese for students from 4th to 9th Grade in English and Chinese. I have been teaching at HuaXia Chinese School for over 15 years and have been nominated teacher of the year several times. I worked as a full time Teacher Assistant in an Early Learning Daycare Center in Piscataway, NJ, from fall 2002 to spring 2003, assisting room teacher for preschool students and teaching Chinese. I have also been working at New Hope Academy Saturday School since fall 2011, teaching Chinese for intermediate level students in English and Chinese. I love children and teaching is my favorite job. Since January 2015, I began teaching here at Crème de le Crème. Although I have only worked for a very short period of time, I already like this school. It is a very nice facility, which is one of the best I have ever seen. It also offers diversified culture for kids. The people in this school are nice and friendly. As a new teacher, I am feeling a really warm welcome. I am not teaching Chinese by myself, instead, I have a team with me. I really appreciate all the help from my colleagues and the administrative staff at Crème de la Crème! Crème de la Crème Mt. Laurel | 299 Walton Ave. | Mt.
