Potatoes
Larger baking potato, 70ct and larger, market is expected to remain
firm until new pack. Quality is currently being reported as good on all sizes.
Lettuce Supplies have increased with Salinas, California now shipping. Supplies
are meeting demand. The new growing area has improved quality. Markets
should remain steady in April.
Onions Mexico weather has improved now shipping greater volume. Quality
has improved on all sizes and colors. Texas should begin to ship onions in a
couple of weeks. Markets are active with new crop onion available.
Tomatoes Florida shipping a moderate amount of product. Sizing is running
smaller, with fair quality. New growing regions in Florida with begin to ship
produce in early April. Mexico’s rainy weather has improved and volume has
improved helping overall supplies.
Strawberries
California volume is increasing with fair to good quality. Supplies
should meet demands keeping markets steady through April.
Grapes Now shipping imported grapes from Chile. White seedless grapes have
excessive inventories causing the market to drop. The seedless red grape
markets are holding firm.
Apples
Washington and Michigan sizes are running 100ct and larger. Smaller
apples 113 to 138 count, will be in short supply.
