Position will be located primarily at the Nixyaawii Governance Center,
Mission, Oregon, Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation,
and may require work to be done at the Hanford Site in Richland, WA.

CTUIR MISSION STATEMENT
Exercise the Tribe's sovereign authority to achieve the maximum protection of resources identified in the
Treaty of 1855, to protect newly acquired lands wherein the Tribe has a vested interest, to protect the lands of
all the citizens and residents of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. This position will protect human life, water,
land, air, and wildlife by exercising professional skills and abilities in the protection of the resources of the
Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
This position will help implement the mission of the Department of Science and Engineering: "To apply a
holistic scientific approach to objectively address scientific and engineering issues that impact the Treaty
Rights, trust resources, environment, natural resources, health, or culture of the CTUIR. " This position will
urii.t the DOSE Program Managers and Department Director by Greet visitors, provide administrative support
for the department, answer telephone, manage and assist with correspondence, take minutes at staff or other
meetings, order and manage office supplies.

Must greet visitors and answer telephone and relay messages to appropriate staff.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing through memorandums, emails, coffespondence
and reports.
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures for office management.
Ability to manage and organize records for the department.
Ability to preparing purchase requests for the department. Will reconcile purchase order with
requisitions. Will also be responsible to order office supplies for the department. Collaborate with other
staff to track department property.
Ability to schedule meetings through SharePoint to include drafting the agenda, take notes, write up
meeting minutes or summary.
Responsible for making travel arrangements for the department, including registration, airline and hotel,
and advance travel request.
Ability to work with little supervision
Ability to edit, format, and finalize technical letters and reports.
Knowledge and ability to prepare outreach displays and compile departmental publications.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (It is the responsibilitv of the applicant to demonstrate in
writing he/she does meet the following minimum qualifications.)
1. Associate of Science Degree from an accredited college or university in business administration,
administration, office professional or closely related freld PLUS five years demonstrated administrative
work experience in a technical setting.
2. Demonstrated reliable work attendance and time management.
3. Demonstrated ability to accomplish multiple simultaneous tasks.
4. Demonstrated ability to follow through on independent assignments, and to determine what is necessary
to carry out verbal and written instructions.
5. Demonstrated ability to draft routine correspondence, compile edited versions, and write memoranda at
the direction of senior staff, able to polish technical letters into signature-ready format.
