They are edited for diplomacy: wording changed to protect interests of the country, project the best image possible and “spin” any negatives. Once revised, they become the Opening Policy Statements. Opening Policy Statements are posted in the Delegate Central email messaging area by each issue delegation. April 6-10 Final deadline April 10 Diplomatic Email Messages with International Community begins…... Students should go on-line and review each country’s opening statements. April 13 Deadline to post questions to each country regarding their policy stmt. Note: messages should relate to your issue area. Open messages from other countries, review the questions you are being asked, and use them in preparation for proposal writing.
