implementation of the CWRS
The Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (“OPCPD”)
does not have much concern on the use of hand-key system given that it is a
less privacy intrusive palm geometry recognition system, provided that the
person directly collecting personal data from the Workers should provide
“Personal Information Collection Statement” specifying the purpose of
collection of biometric data and the classes of transferees.
OPCPD has strong reservation against the deployment of fingerprint
recognition system.
While the CIC Android Device is designed to facilitate the integration with
of the commonly used biometric authentication system, contractors can
consider other Android Devices in particular when they do not use any
biometric authentication system.
