Organization of National or International Conferences; Sessions as Chair:
Chairman, Gordon Conference on Angiotensin II, 1985.
Chairman, FASEB Conference on the Endothelium, 1994.
19.
Research focus:
My research interests are the biology of blood vessels and the pathogenesis of vascular disease
at the fundamental cell biology and clinical levels. A major focus has been on the mechanisms by
which angiotensin II regulates blood vessel function. In particular, we are interested in the role of
oxidative stress and vascular cell signaling at the basic and clinical levels. The general objectives
have been to define molecular mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of human disease and
to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
