Senior Parking FAQ

Naperville North High School
Senior Parking Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. Who can apply for senior parking?
Rising Seniors (Class of 2016) who are in good standing are the only students that can apply for a parking pass.
2. When will the senior parking application be available?
The application will be available on Naviance, starting on Monday, May 11th. Directions on where to locate the
survey can be found here.
3. What do I need to complete to apply for a parking pass?
Student must do the following to have a complete application:
- Complete the appropriate parking application on Naviance
- Fill out the Parent Signature Form
- Bring the completed Parent Permission Form, along with a copy of your Driver’s License, and a copy of your
CURRENT insurance card to Student Services in an envelope with your name on it
- Deadline to complete the application and turn in all paperwork is Monday, June 22, 2015 at 2pm
4. What happens if I turn in my paperwork after the deadline?
We will still accept your application; however, your application will be marked late and be considered after the
initial lottery (if spots are still available)
5. What type of parking pass can I apply for?
There are two types of parking passes: Carpool & Individual.
- Carpool passes are when two or more eligible senior students (both with a driver’s license and insurance) apply
to share a single pass.
- Individual passes are for individual senior students who are applying for a pass by themselves.
6. What will increase my chances of getting a parking pass?
Students applying for a carpool pass will be guaranteed a parking pass (as long as both students are in good
standing).
7. I have a special circumstance (job, sport, family needs, etc) – will this increase my chances of getting a parking
pass?
Senior parking passes are distributed to seniors who are in a Carpool first. All remaining passes will be distributed
via a lottery to eligible students who applied for an Individual pass. To have your best chances of receiving a pass,
please apply for a Carpool pass.
8. What are the odds that I will receive a pass if I apply as an Individual?
There will be 757 seniors and there are 350 parking passes. If every senior applies for an Individual pass, then you
have a 46% chance of receiving a pass. If you apply as a Carpool, your odds increase to 100%.
9. Can I apply for both a Carpool AND an Individual parking pass?
Yes; however, because Carpool passes are guaranteed, your Individual pass application will be deleted.
10. When completing a Carpool application, do both drivers need to fill out Naviance applications?
No – only one driver for the Carpool application needs to complete the application on Naviance. However, all
students applying for a Carpool must sign and submit a single Parent Signature Form for the entire carpool.
11. When will I be notified if I received a parking pass?
Notifications on parking passes will not be sent out until Thursday, August 6th.
12. What is the cost of a Senior Parking Pass?
Senior Parking Passes are $100, and must be paid for at senior registration (if selected to receive a pass). We will not
accept payment prior to senior registration, and there are no discounts on senior parking passes. Students selected
to receive a parking pass should bring a check or money order (made out to NCUSD203) to senior registration.
13. What happens if I receive a Carpool parking pass, and the other driver and I no longer want to carpool?
If you and your carpool group break your carpool agreement, it is possible that your parking privileges will be
revoked. If you plan to terminate your agreement, you and your carpool partner will need to write up a request to
end your contract and submit it to Mr. Madden in writing in the SS2 office.
14. Who can I contact if I have additional questions?
If you have questions not answered above, please contact Mr. Madden via e-mail at [email protected]
