Pannill Award Recipients – small format

The Pannill Award of The American Daffodil Society
The William G. Pannill Award is given annually to an American hybridizer to
recognize a named standard daffodil which has demonstrated winning show
qualities. This award was first presented in 1997. The criteria are as follows:

Demonstrated winning show qualities for a minimum of 5 years
following registration.
Must have been awarded at least one ADS Gold or White Ribbon
within the last 5 years.
Must be regarded as generally "growable and showable" in a majority
of the ADS regions.

‘POPS Legacy’, 1 W-Y, an early season white and yellow trumpet

‘LaPaloma’, 3 W-GYR, a midseason flower with a white perianth and
a small yellow cup with a green eye and a red rim, bred by William

‘New Penny’, 3 Y-Y, a small-cupped daffodil with yellow perianth and

‘Pink China’, 2 W-P, an intermediate-sized pink and white large cup
daffodil bred by Richard and Elise Havens, 2007.
‘Pink Silk’, 1 W-P, an early-midseason trumpet daffodil with a pink

‘Magic Lantern’, 1 Y-O, a midseason trumpet daffodil whose cup
opens yellow and becomes buffish orange, bred by Richard and Elise
Havens, 2009.
‘Oregon Pioneer’, 2 Y-P, a midseason large-cupped daffodil whose
cup opens lemon yellow and becomes intense pink on rim and inside
and light pink on outside, bred by Richard and Elise Havens, 2010.
‘American Dream’, 1 Y-P, a midseason trumpet daffodil whose cup is
funnel shaped with a flared, slightly ruffled rim, bred by Richard and
Elise Havens, 2011.
‘Miss Primm’, 2 Y-Y, an early to midseason large-cupped daffodil
with greenish yellow petals and whose cup is funnel shaped with a

17. 'Scarlet Tanager', 2 Y-R, a late season, intermediate-size large-cupped
daffodil with yellow petals and whose cup is bright orange-red bowl
shaped with a bit of a notched rim, bred by Richard and Elise
Havens, 2013
18. 'Lemon Silk', 6YYW-W, an early to midseason large and well formed
flower with pale lemon petals that sweep back, the unique characteristic
of cyclamineus daffodils, bred by Grant Mitsch and Richard and Elise

19. 'Mesa Verde', 12G-GGY, an early to mid-season standard size daffodil
that opens a sensational emerald green and slowly matures to a greeny
yellow. As with many N. viridiflorus hybrids it has superb lasting
qualities; often remaining in peak show form for a couple of weeks.
