Congratulations Runners,
Dallas Athletes Racing would like to thank you for participating in the 6th
running of the Wounded Warrior Half Marathon and 10K and this year the
Saturday 5K. Your participation is helping us to support the Wounded Warrior
Project and Fisher House Projects. This Race Guide contains all the
information you will need to know prior to, during and after your race
including the Warrior Expo, what to expect on race day, the Wounded Warrior
Post Race Festivities and more. Hang on to this booklet – it’s your resource for
all of the race activities and information.

Dallas Athletes Racing Triathlons. Good luck to all

Important Race Weather Information
In 2013 the race had an record storm come through just before
the race start and want to make sure we keep your safety as a
number one priority.
Race officials may cancel, delay or change the race to a non-scored event in
case of extreme weather or other conditions that may affect the safety and
health of the participants. In the event of cancellation, no refunds will be
issued.
Flag Warning System
There will be a simple flag warning system all along the course to communicate
to participants the status of weather-related or course-related conditions. Flags
are located at the each of the water stations on the course
Green Flag – Everything is Normal
Yellow Flag – The heat index is at a point that runners/walkers should
slow down and drink plenty of water or there is a storm in the area and
the race officials are monitoring. Less than ideal weather conditions
Red Flag – Dangerous weather. Runners and walkers should be
aware of the weather and heat index.
Black Flag – Race has been cancelled due to extreme weather or
course emergency. Events such as lighting, tornado, or human
disaster has or is occurring and all participants need to seek shelter
immediately.

Half Marathon and 10KStart and Course Information
In order to have a safe and successful event the participants will:
•
have bib/number visible at all times.
•
not to be on the course before the official start.
•
be disqualified for starting early.
•
not participate with another participant’s number.
•
not exchange (by selling or giving away) their bib number unless officially.
transferred their registration to another participant by the race directors.
•
not be allowed to move to the Half or to 5K without being officially moved by
race directors.
•
Obey all directions by course monitors, police and safety personnel.
•
Obey the course cut off times and closure times
Unregistered participants, unauthorized vehicles, bicycles, any
motorized or gear-driven machine, skateboards, roller states, inline skates, stroller, baby joggers, walking poles and animals are
prohibited along the course. All race regulations comply with the
liability insurance requirements and ensure your safety and the safety of
others, please allow room for faster individuals to pass you. If you are
running or walking with friends, please do not line up more than two
abreast. If you are walking --- please stay to the right.
