How to get there?
Kaapelitehdas (Cable Factory) is located in an area called Ruoholahti, which is about 2 kilometers
from Helsinki center. You can get
there by:
 Metro Ruoholahti, 700 metres walk to Kaapelitehdas
(Cable Factory)
 Buses 15, 20, 21V, 65A, 66A
 Tram 8 (stop:
Länsisatamankatu) or tram 9
(stop: Länsilinkki)

From the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport
From the Helsinki-Vantaa airport the easiest and cheapest way to get to Helsinki center is to take
bus 615 (wheelchair accessible). This bus leaves in front of the terminal (1 and 2) approximately every 15 minutes. It takes you through the city to Helsinki Railway Station. Travel time is 35 minutes and
it costs 5 euros. You can buy the ticket from the bus driver. You can also take bus 61 to Tikkurila
railway station and take the train to Helsinki.

system (also from outside of Helsinki). Type in your origin street address and destination street address. Go to Advanced Search and tick Show accessibility information to see the wheelchair accessible routes, stops etc.
Train

Commuter and long distance train timetables, ticket prices and all info you need. All stations in the
Helsinki Metropolitan area aren’t accessible even if the train is. Look for the Wheelchair symbol on
the timetable! The Pendolino and Intercity long distance trains are accessible.

Accessibility
Metro is fully accessible. In every station there are lifts.
Buses and trams. Most of the Helsinki City Transport’s (HSL) buses and over half of the trams are
accessible (with “low floors”). More info: https://www.hsl.fi/en/information/how-use-publictransport/accessibility. In Journey Planner’s timetables there is the letter “e” after the clock time if
the bus or tram is NOT accessible (in the printed timetables the routes printed in blue aren’t accessible).

Most restaurants - and bigger cafeterias - have gluten/lactose free and vegetarian options on their
menu. Look on the menu for the letters G (gluten free), L (lactose free), VL (low-lactose), K (vegetarian), M (no eggs). You can also ask if a dish could be modified to your need.
