Camp hours are from 9am-4pm. Extended Hours are 7am-6pm CAMP GOALS #1 Make new friends #2 Form positive relationship with a caring staff member CAMP AGES Rising Kindergarteners through rising 8th grade. Groups are grades: K-1 2-3 DAY CAMP FEES #3 Every camper will experience new things, learn, and 4-5 Members $110 week/per child Non-Members $130 week/per child Daily Fee: $35 per child Daily Fee is NOT offered on Fridays DAY CAMP DISCOUNTS 20% off Sibling Discount Financial Assistance is Available. Please pick up an application at the Welcome Center. Combined discounts may not exceed CAMP GEAR Each camper must wear loose fitting clothing and sneakers every day. Camp T-shirts must be worn on field trip days. Swimwear must be labeled and in a plastic bag. Skirts and dresses are not recommended, but can be worn with shorts underneath. REFUNDS & CREDITS If your child cannot attend camp for a period of time paid, you may submit a request for credit along with documentation to the camp director. Any request submitted will be granted under the discretion of the Youth & Family Director. CAMP LUNCH Lunch will be provided to every child through our Summer Meals Food Program. BEGIN TO SWIM/WATER SAFETY BASKETBALL CAMP The water safety and JR lifeguard will teach children the basics of water and pool safety. Children will learn general swimming techniques and how to perform basic rescues. Students will spend 45 minutes in a classroom and 45 minutes in the pool. This camp is a great place of any young basketball lover looking to improve his or her skills, work hard, and make new friends. This camp will focus on the fundamentals of ball handling, shooting, passing, rebounding, defense, and offense. Campers will need to have proper attire to participate (T-shirt, gym shorts, and athletic shoes). Monday - Friday June 15th-19th Danville Family YMCA 1:30-3pm This year’s camp will be conducted by Coach Stanley Gouard. Coach S. Gouard is the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at the University of Indianapolis. This year the Greyhounds finished their historic season advancing to the NCAA D-II Midwest Regional at the No.3 seed, after spending two weeks at #1 and ending their season ranked #15. Monday - Friday June 8th-12th Danville Family YMCA Groups 3-8 1:30-3pm Groups 4-8 GIRLS ROCK CAMP Celebrate all things G-I-R-L with a week of special activities designed to build confidence & self-esteem. Campers will receive special speakers on topics on body, hygiene, and healthy snacks, make jewelry, and conduct a lemonade stand at the end of the week! Monday-Friday 9:30-11am July 27th—30th Danville Family YMCA Groups K-8 Monday-Thursday 10am-12pm June 22nd—25th Danville Family YMCA SCIENCE CAMP Campers will enjoy hands-on experiments, projects, and games with a science approach and an environmental focus. The camp includes a science camp t-shirt and a goody bag of science toys. Monday-Friday 9:30-11am & 11-12:30pm June 29th– July 3rd Danville Family YMCA Groups 2-8 Limit 25 participants per each session TAE KWON DO CAMP Led by Kim Krugers of Krugers’ ATA Martial Arts, campers will learn karate, skill development, leadership, flexibility, self control techniques. These skill sets will help in prevention of child abduction, increase self defense, and bully prevention. Monday-Thursday 9:30-11am July 6- July 9th Danville Family YMCA Groups K-2 & 3-6 Each session 45 minutes 6 FOOTBALL CAMP WILDERNESS NATURE CAMP This camp will teach your camper the basic offensive and defensive skills through drills, tackle ,and flag football. Let your child’s natural curiosity for nature be discovered. This four day camp led by trained professional naturalists taking the campers on adventures through Kennekuk Park, Forest Glen Preserve, and Heron County Park Boardwalk. Monday-Thursday July 13th– 16th 9:30-11am Garfield Park Monday-Thursday 9:30-11:30am July 27th—30th Vermilion County Conservation District Groups K-8 DANCE CAMP Move to the groove! This camp will teach campers the basic techniques and choreography of a hip hop dance routine. This year’s dance camp is instructed by Jylian McQuown. Jylian has danced at Jodi’s Dance Unlimited for 17 years. Jylian was an AVID student & a member of the Varsity Cheer Team at Danville High School. Monday-Thursday 9:30-11am June 13th—16th Danville Family YMCA Groups 5-8 Please wear long pants, & athletic shoes and bring a water bottle & sun block MYSTERY CAMP Campers will become top P.I.’s as they spend the week decoding messages, having scavenger hunts, and playing a game of “Life Size Clue” Monday-Thursday 9:30-11am August 3rd– 6th Danville Family YMCA Groups K-8 Groups 2-8 CLUB INVENTION (STEM EDUCATION) Camp Invention is coming to the YMCA!! Campers will participate in the Bolder Builders module where they join engineer, architect, and builder Archie Tek in the restoration of a town called Unlucky. Campers will create and test various structures for strength and stability. Campers will also build various animal habitats, including a spider web, burrowing animal tunnel, and bird’s nest. This camp has a nonrefundable deposit holding fee $20 Monday-Thursday 9:30-11am June 20th-24th Danville Family YMCA M.A.D (MUSIC, ARTS, DRAMA) & TECH CAMP As we wrap up our Best Summer Ever, campers will explore their own creative talents through song, dance, drawing contests, and video games.
