The Hartford Courant Daytrips and Destinations Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) starts at 10 a.m. (ET)
Saturday, May 2, 2015 and ends 4 p.m. (ET), Saturday, May 2, 2015 (the “Sweepstakes Period”). The
sponsors of this Sweepstakes are Hartford Courant Company, LLC and Tribune Broadcasting Hartford,
LLC ("Sponsors"). The Sweepstakes shall be subject to these Official Rules, and by entering, all entrants
agree to abide and be bound by the terms and conditions herein and the decisions of the Sponsors.
1. ELIGIBILITY: Each entrant must be a legal U.S. citizen or legal U.S. resident residing in Connecticut,
Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, New Jersey or New York (the
“Sweepstakes Area”), age 18 or older at the time of entry. Entrants must also be present at the Daytrips +
Destinations Travel + Family Fun Expo (the “Expo”) on Saturday, May 2, 2015 beginning at 10 a.m. (ET).

from April 16, 2015 through May 1, 2015 and use promo code CRDD15. Employees (and their respective
immediate family members) of the Sponsors, Tribune Media Company, Tribune Publishing Company, and
of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates and advertising agencies, are not eligible to
win. Employees of other media companies including all radio or television stations, and members of the
immediate family of any such persons are not eligible to participate. Entrants who have won a prize from
a promotion sponsored by the Hartford Courant Company, LLC and Tribune Broadcasting Hartford, LLC
within the last six months are ineligible and will be disqualified. Void where prohibited and outside
Sweepstakes Area.
2. HOW TO ENTER: Look for the official entry form (and hourly giveaway) at the Community Booth at the
Expo during the Sweepstakes Period at the Aqua Turf, 556 Mulberry Street, Plantsville, CT 06479.
Accurately complete the entry form including but not limited to your name, zip, email, phone number, and
any other required fields. Deposit it into the box located on the display table. There will be at least one
new prize every hour. Entry times will be available from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.; 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.; 12 p.m. – 1
p.m.; 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.; 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. and 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. (all ET). Details about the drawing(s) for that
particular hour will be displayed at the Community Booth, announced over the intercom, and shown on a
projection screen in the main ballroom. ONLY ONE ENTRY PER PERSON, PER DRAWING. THERE

Sponsors are not responsible for lost, stolen, incomplete, damaged, illegible, late, or misdirected entries.
All received entries become the property of Sponsors and will not be returned or acknowledged.
3. SELECTION OF WINNERS: A total of 23 winners will be selected at random from all eligible entries, on
Saturday, May 2nd at or around the following times: 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4 p.m.
(all ET). Each entry pool will be separate and entries will not carry over to the next drawing. The odds of
winning depend on the number of eligible entries received for each drawing and the number of prizes
awarded in that drawing. There are 23 prizes, and prizes will be divided among the 23 drawings in the
sole discretion of Sponsors. Winners will be announced from the main stage over the Aqua Turf intercom.
All winner names will be displayed on the projection screen in the main ballroom and a large board at the
Information Booth. Prizes will be awarded at the Information Booth at the Daytrips and Destinations
Travel & Family Fun Expo. Winners must claim all prizes before 4:15 p.m. on May 2, 2015. If a
selected winner is ineligible, not present, not in compliance with these Official Rules, if Sponsors are
unable to make contact with a selected winner after reasonable effort and time (no more than 15
minutes), or if winner does not complete and return required documents as set forth below, the prize will
be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner selected by a random drawing from among all remaining
eligible entries for that drawing. Sponsors will conduct up to two alternate drawings for each prize. ONCE
AN ENTRANT HAS BEEN DECLARED A WINNER, HE OR SHE, OR ANYONE IN THEIR
RESPECTIVE HOUSEHOLD, WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO BE A WINNER IN ANY ADDITIONAL
DRAWINGS HELD DURING THE SWEEPSTAKES PERIOD.
WINNER WILL RECEIVE A 1099 TAX FORM REFLECTING THE ACTUAL VALUE OF ANY PRIZE
THAT IS $600 OR MORE. All winners must be present to claim his/her prize. If a Winner fails to
show proof of age and fill out and sign any necessary forms (Hartford Courant Sweepstakes release form
and eligibility form), that winner shall be disqualified and the prize shall be forfeited.
4. AWARDING & DELIVERY OF PRIZES:
One (1) winner will receive a voucher good for a two-night stay for winner and a guest at the Salem
Waterfront Hotel & Suites (225 Derby St, Salem, MA 01970). Prize not valid weekends between May 1
through September 30, October, Holidays or Holiday Weekends. Prize may not be used on packages,
unless otherwise stated. Voucher expires March 31, 2016. For information about the resort, visit

Two (2) winners will receive a voucher for a one-night stay for winner and a guest at the Mill Falls at the
Lake (312 Daniel Webster Hwy, Meredith, NH 03253). Voucher is valid Sunday through Thursday
evenings and based on availability. Blackout periods include July, August, October, and Holidays. Travel

One (1) winner will receive a two-night stay for two (2) adults to Sunny Hill Resort and Golf Course (352

cart at Sunny Hill and Thunderhart Golf Courses during the prize vacation, three meals a day, pools, daily

5. CONDITIONS APPLICABLE TO ALL PRIZES: Advance reservations are required. Prize travel is
subject to capacity controls, availability, blackout dates, holidays (which may include Thanksgiving,
Christmas Week, Martin Luther King Weekend & President's Week and other dates), and certain other
restrictions. All prize travel must be completed by the date provided on the voucher. Guest of winner who
is a minor must be accompanied at all times by parent or legal guardian. Guest (and parent or legal
guardian of guest who is a minor) may be required to sign and return release prior to accompanying
winner on prize trip. For full prize details, including blackout dates, specific details, exclusions, and
redemption information please refer to the voucher. Federal, state and local taxes, travel to airport or
vacation destinations, fuel surcharges, alcoholic beverages, tips, excursions, merchandise and souvenirs,
incidental expenses, tips and gratuities, income and other taxes, and any additional expenses if any, as
well as all other costs and expenses not otherwise mentioned in the voucher or certificate are the sole
responsibility of the winners. Sponsors and prize providers can add any prizes in their sole
discretion, provided that such Sponsors or prize providers will notify the entrants of any such
changes as reasonably practicable. Prizes are not replaceable if lost or stolen, and are nontransferable, non-negotiable, not redeemable for cash, credit or merchandise, and may not be sold,
bartered, or auctioned. No substitute prizes are available except at Sponsors’ sole discretion, in which
case Sponsors will substitute a prize of equal or greater value. If any portion of prize is unused, it will be
forfeited.
EACH PRIZE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR
IMPLIED, AND THE RELEASED PARTIES HEREBY DISCLAIM ALL SUCH WARRANTIES, INCLUDING
BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND/OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. Prize value may vary from stated ARV
depending on time of year vacation is taken, but if actual prize value is less than the stated ARV, the
difference in prize value will not be awarded. All properly claimed prizes will be awarded, but in no event
will Sponsors award more prizes than are provided for under these Official Rules.
6. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: Entrants agree Sponsors have the sole right to decide all matters and
disputes arising from this Sweepstakes and Official Rules and that their decision is final and binding.
Except where prohibited by law, entrants agree to allow use of their name, voice, photograph, likeness
and any information provided on entry form, in any medium of communication, including print, Internet,
radio and/or television and for any purpose, including advertising, promotional or other purposes, by
Sponsors and/or their affiliates, without additional compensation. Winner must provide proof of legal
name, address, zip code, and telephone number to receive designated prize (for example, in the form of
a government-issued driver’s license or identification card). Entrants who do not comply with these Official
Rules or attempt to interfere with this Sweepstakes in any way will be disqualified. The use of automated
entry devices or any other conduct that impedes the integrity of the Sweepstakes is prohibited. This
Sweepstakes will be governed and enforced pursuant to Connecticut law, excluding choice of law
provisions. By participating in this Sweepstakes, each entrant agrees to release and hold harmless the
prize providers, Sponsors, Aqua Turf, and all these companies’ parent corporations, subsidiaries, and
affiliates, and the officers, directors, agents, and employees of all such companies from any and all
damages, injuries, claims, causes of action, or losses of any kind resulting from your participation in this
Sweepstakes, and/or your acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize and any travel related
thereto, including without limitation, personal injury, death, property damage, defamation, infringement of
intellectual property rights, and claims based on the rights of publicity and privacy.
By entering the Sweepstakes, entrants agree that: (a) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action
arising out of or connected with the Sweepstakes, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually,
without resort to any form of class action; (b) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to
actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the Sweepstakes, but in no
event attorneys’ fees; and (c) under no circumstances will any entrant be permitted to obtain any award
for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental or consequential damages and any
and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased and any other damages, other than for
actual out-of-pocket expenses. Some jurisdictions do not allow for limitations on the ability to pursue class
action remedies, or certain kinds of damages, and so these limitations may not apply to you.
Sponsors are not responsible for changes made to the prizes once they are awarded, including any
delay, cancellation or postponement of the prize events or trips that are outside their control, and are
under no obligation to provide a substitute prize. Sponsors are is not responsible for any typographical or
other error in the printing or advertising of the offer, administration or execution of the contest or in the
announcements of the prizes/prize winners.
All activity arising out of and relating to the Sweepstakes, including any reference to an entrant’s status as
a “winner,” is subject to verification and/or auditing for compliance with the Official Rules and you agree to
cooperate with Sponsor concerning such verification and/or auditing. If Sponsor determines, in its sole
discretion, that verification or auditing activity evidences non-compliance of an entry and/or entrant with
the Official Rules, Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify such entry and/or entrant from the
Sweepstakes and any prize at any time. Neither the failure of Sponsors to insist upon or enforce strict
performance of any provision of these Official Rules or the failure, delay or omission by Sponsors in
exercising any right with respect to any term of these Official Rules, will be construed as a waiver or
relinquishment to any extent of Sponsors’ right to assert or rely upon any such provision or right in that or
any other instance.
