SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP NEWS
Guidance Department
All seniors should have completed the BRIGHT
FUTURES application online @
www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org.
February is the first opportunity senior records will be
evaluated and seniors will be awarded the Bright Futures
Academic or Medallion Scholarships. All requirements
must be met/completed. Remember Seniors, you
must have your community service hours completed
and turned in to your counselor to be approved for
Bright Futures in February!!!!!!!!!!!
BEACON Seminar for SENIORS!! Feb. 9th
&10th All seniors will learn how to complete the FAFSA
form with experts who donate their time to teach you. All
college bound students, and their families, need to
apply at: www.fafsa.ed.gov. We will see you during
your English classes. Also FSCJ will be here to assist
students with their applications online and the
military branches will be here for anyone who is
interested.

#49 Jacksonville Beaches Woman’s Club
Scholarship will be awarding three $2000
scholarships. To apply for this scholarship you
must be a graduating female, have academic
potential, have financial need, and plan to
attend an accredited college in the state of
Florida. Please stop by guidance for this
application. The completed application form
must be turned in to Mrs. McWilliams in
guidance by March 23, 2015.
#50 Buick Achievers Scholarship Program
will award scholarships up to $100,000 to high
school seniors who enroll full time at a four-year
college/university in 2015-16, and who plan to
major in engineering, technology, design or
business, with an interest in the automotive
industry. Application is online @

#51 2015 Student-View Scholarship Program
is offering $11,000 worth of scholarships to
seniors who plan to attend a four-year college,
community/junior college or career school. The
program includes: One $4,000 scholarship, two
$1,000 scholarships, and ten $500 scholarships.
It’s quick and easy to apply. Simply log on to

minute application survey about colleges in your
area. Scholarship deadline: April 22, 2015.

#52 Fletcher High School PTSA Scholarships
The FHS PTSA will award $500 scholarships to
eligible seniors. All applicants must be current
and active PTSA members, meet college
entrance GPA requirements. Students must turn
in the application, volunteer service hours and
essay to Ms. McWilliams in Guidance by
April 3, 2015. Please pick up your application
in guidance ASAP.
#53 Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will
award eight $2,000 scholarships. Applicant must
be an African-American female, have a GPA of
3.3, have taken the SAT or the ACT. To see the

#54 Jacksonville Urban League/Pepsi/Winn
Dixie Scholarship application is in guidance for
any senior who writes a 250 word essay
describing their career goals. Seniors must have
a 2.5 or higher gpa and submit their transcript
and 2 letters of recommendation. Applications

#59 PFLAG of Jacksonville is awarding $2,000
in scholarships to OUT lesbian, gay, bisexual
and transgender students who reside in the
Duval, Clay, St Johns and Nassau counties.

# 60 Kiwanis Club of Jacksonville Beaches is
awarding 2 $1,000 scholarships. The eligibility
criteria is financial need. An essay is required
plus a transcript and community service hours.

#61 Exxon Mobil Bernard Harris Math and
Science Scholarship for African American and
Hispanic students both boys and girls. Seniors
may apply for this $5,000 scholarship online @

#55 The Florida Society of Colonial
Dames/Anne Massey General Scholarship is
awarding $1,000 scholarship to a senior who
shows financial need and a 3.0 gpa. You must
submit an acceptance letter, two letters of
reference and transcript. Application is in
Guidance. Deadline: April 1, 2015.
#62 FL School Counselor Association is
offering a $500 essay scholarship for seniors.
The essay is one page single spaced and the
prompt is How has your Guidance Counselor
impacted you? Stop by guidance for the Entry
form used for submission. Deadline: April 3,
2015.
#56 Zeta Phi Beta Sorority/Alpha Hayes
Moore Memorial Scholarship is offering a
$500 scholarship to a female senior. You must
submit an acceptance letter, three letters of
reference and transcript. You must submit a 500
word essay on Strategies to Reduce Gun
Violence Among Youth. Application is in
Guidance. Deadline: March 5, 2015.
