As in the past years, the international furniture exhibition is linked to Fuorisalone; the events will be held in various places around Milan, among which the courtyards of Università Statale, that provide a delightful setting for the 18th edition of the exhibition-event organized by Interni. The exhibition will continue after Fuorisalone for the entire opening month of Expo 2015, exploring the theme “Energy for creativity”. The University of Milan and the botanical garden Orto Botanico of Brera is going to host internationally renowned designers, architects and successful companies in the fields of innovation and research who wish to create temporary installations reflecting their view on the theme; Fuorisalone will thus become an open-air laboratory where proposals concerning the cities of tomorrow are welcomed and discussed. Chapter 1 1.1 BLACK HOLE 1.2 AGORÀ 31 QUALITY ITALIAN DESIGN FOR PEOPLE WITH CHILDREN Vetreria Bazzanese, Marzorati Ronchetti and Zordan, leaders in applied design in Italy, have united their expertise to realize Black Hole, a work of art specially designed by architects Steve E. Blatz and Antonio Pio Saracino on display at Università Statale in Milan (Cortile d’Onore) from April 13th to May 24th. The challenge of this installation was to represent a black hole absorbing energy by giving shape to the surrounding space; it was realized using three different materials—wood, steel and glass— serving with their own particular and synergic function. The stand rests on a pedestal with an observation point at the centre, represented by a wooden seat. Four steel pillars support the side glass walls, which have been carved to vary their transparency. The horizontal boards above the seat are made of wood painted in black and the lateral outlines present mirror polished stainless steel foils that reflect the whole place. The floor appears to be drawn to the hole and loses its original shape to create a seat. Visitors are thus encouraged to sit down and stare into emptiness, recharging themselves with positive energy. On the occasion of Fuori Salone and Expo 2015, the brand of luxury furnishing accessories Mondo di Eve and A misura di bimbo, a blog dedicated to art and interior design for children present Agorà 31 Quality Italian design for people with children. This exhibition project gathers together ideas, proposals and young outstanding businesses who strongly support Made in Italy products, investing in first-quality materials and technical and stylistic research. The event will take place in the delightful setting of Fiorditortona in Via Tortona 31 in Milan; My Mirrors is one of the main participants. The My Mirrors line of mirrors for children designed by Vetreria Bazzanese can amuse children in perfect safety and decorate with good taste any bedroom or room for grown-ups and kids alike. With My Mirrors, mothers can feel safe knowing that the mirrors, as specified by the “safety mirror” indication, are childproof – no edges or sharp sides and, thanks to a special internal adhesive film, no glass splinters in case of accidental breakage. Chapter 2 2.1 SPA WORLD BY SIMONE MICHELI 2.2 BIG DREAM IN A LITTLE TOWER “Present and future wellness centres should convey the impression of being authentic places for spending the most intimate and emotional moments. For this reason, they satisfy the need for designing and creating spaces devised like unique and fascinating works of art that could tell a charming and inspiring story to their visitors […] Based on these assumptions, the artwork can be realized only if customer and designer share a common vision, a convergent perspective that encourage them to fulfil their objectives”. The architect selected some renowned companies and innovative products in the world of spa and wellness to display them in this charming location. Simone Micheli, who celebrates his 25 years of activity, designed all the works of art. The exhibition, of which Vetreria Bazzanese is official partner, opens on April 16th during Fuorisalone, but it can already be visited. Big dream in a little tower aims at restoring the use of a secret meeting place, thanks to the partnership with successful Italian companies, among which Vetreria Bazzanese, that realized exclusive furnishings designed by architect Simone Micheli. The setting is the historic and exclusive Fattoria di Maiano in Florence, a farm that holds a fascinating late 19th century neo-Gothic miniature tower. The permanent Exhibition-Work of art event is marked by two special moments; on the occasion of Fuorisalone, from April 14th to 19th, the prototypes of the suite furnishings will be presented through animations, videos, augmented reality and renderings at “Simone Micheli studio - gallery” in Milan. From May 2015 onwards, the pieces of furniture realized by the partner companies will be on permanent display inside the tower in Florence.
