This program is partially supported by the Robert J. Feigal
Lectureship in Pediatric Dentistry, a fund established with
the University of Minnesota Foundation with the purpose
of promoting an annual symposium in Dr. Feigal’s name
covering contemporary pediatric dental topics. Lectureship
funding this year will support resident attendance.
Continuing Education Credits
This course is designed to provide 6.5 hours of continuing education credit.
Minnesota credits: 6.5 fundamental credits. However, credit given depends on
hourly attendance (1 hour = 1 credit.)
Eligibility
All dental team members are eligible and encouraged to attend this program.
Registration Fees
All registration fees include tuition, course materials, refreshments, luncheon,
and parking. Dentists must pay the full fee of $285. Senior citizen dentists
(age 65 and older) may attend the program at $165. Dental therapists, dental
hygienists and dental assistants pay the individual team member tuition of $165;
second and each additional dental therapist, dental hygienist or dental assistant
pays the reduced fee of $145. Dentists, dental therapists and dental hygienists
who are members of the School of Dentistry Alumni Society may deduct 10%
from their tuition fee: member dentists pay $256.50 and member therapists and
hygienists pay $148.50.
Refund Policy
A full refund will be made if you cancel at least one week (five working days)
prior to the program. If you cancel less than one week prior to the program a
$50 processing fee will be deducted from your refund.

About the Speakers

Marcio da Fonseca, D.D.S., M.S., Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Director of Oral Health for Special Needs Children, University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry; Diplomate,
American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. da Fonseca has extensive clinical experience in dental care for medically compromised children and adolescents.
Catherine M. Flaitz, D.D.S., M.S., a dual trained pediatric dentist and oral and maxillofacial pathologist, holds the combined appointment of Professor and Chair, Department of Pediatric Dentistry at The Ohio State University
and Chief of Dentistry, Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. Flaitz has an adjunct appointment at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Department of Head and Neck Oncology. She maintains an active consultation service treating children
and adolescents with a wide range of oral lesions and complex medical conditions. Dr. Flaitz is board certified in oral and maxillofacial pathology and participates in the surgical pathology service.
Margaret Heisel Kurth, M.D., Medical Director of Children’s Center for Bleeding and Clotting Disorders, Children’s of Minnesota, Minneapolis from 1992-2014. Dr. Heisel Kurth joined the hematology/oncology program at
Children’s of Minnesota in 1982. Her areas of interest include pediatric bleeding disorders, bleeding disorders in women, and pediatric thrombosis.
Jody Van Ness, M.Ed., CEO of Eye Box Tools, providing a product line, professional training, coaching/consulting and resourcing to address the needs of individuals living with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Jody holds an
autism certificate and is Mom to an adult son living with autism. She has served as Executive Director of a charter school focused on the needs of individuals with ASD, and as a psychoeducational consultant for a regional center
for autism.
