2015 – ATTENTION ALL MINORS AND MAJORS PLAYERS AND PARENTS
Dear Dexter Little League Player and Parent:
We would like to take this opportunity to share some information with you regarding Dexter Little
League’s TournamentTeams. As an official Little League Organization, DLL has the opportunity to
enter teams into the official Little League State and World Series Tournaments. The final rounds of the
12u Little League World Series Tournament are held each August in Williamsport, PA. While a DLL
Tournament Team has yet to make it to the final rounds in Williamsport, we have brought home many
District titles and a number of deep runs in the State Tournament. You may have seen some of these
Championship banners hanging Opening Day on our fences.
DLL has historically entered teams in the 10U, 11U, and 12U divisions for baseball and softball,
depending on interest. Players must be at least league age 9 to participate. Tournament Teams will be
selected in early June.
All players and parents consenting to be considered for one of the Tournament Teams should
understand the following:

Tournament Teams usually practice and/or play gamesfour to five times per week between June
15th and the start of the District 3 Tournament in mid-July. Play will continue into the summer as
long as the Team continues to win, which could be through August.
A player and parent’s commitment must include attending 85% of their team functions.
There is a cost involved ranging from $100-$250. The cost includes uniforms and tournament
entry fees. It does not include any travel expenses.
Unlike the DLL’s regular season inclusive philosophy, Tournament Teams place a higher priority on
winning and there are very minimal mandated playing time requirements. Thus playing time likely
will vary significantly among the players and some may play very little in Tournament games.
All Tournament Team member families will be required to work at DLL hosted District Tournament
events. The amount of time varies each year based on the events being hosted.
This is an UNMATCHED EXPERIENCE for our children and their parents. If your Dexter Little
Leaguer would like to be considered for a Tournament Team, this form must be signed by both the
player and the parent and returned no later than May 9, 2015. Make sure you discuss your desire to
be considered for a Tournament Team with your DLL coach. Please note that signing this form does
not guarantee a spot on a team.
