DIVERSITY STUDY GENETIC Durian ( Durio zibethinus Murray ) in

ABSTRACT
Durian is a plant native trees of the archipelago, with the center of diversity on the
island of Borneo. The word " durian " refers to the shape of the fruit skin barbed
spines that are named with the suffix an, be durian. To determine the
morphological parameters, knowing that a superior gene pool durian (Durio
zibethinus Murray in terms of (early maturity, sweet taste, aroma ), determine the
relationship between morphological parameters of the fruit flesh quality, taste and
aroma by determining organoleptic test of durian (Durio zibethinus Murray) in the
District Land Java, Siantar and Hatonduhan in North Sumatra Simalungun field
sampling process was done by using purposive sampling (samples intended) on
any type of research in the location of durian cultivars. Each type of durian (Durio
zibethinus Murray ) is superior in terms of early maturity, sweet flavor and aroma
to the samples taken and will be further identified to serve as the parent plant. The
data taken in the form of morphological data roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits,
and seeds (pongge). Results parameterization of the morphological properties of
durian then there are variations in the parameters of leaf length, stem diameter,
fruit weight, fruit diameter, weight pongge, number pongge/ pie fruit flesh
thickness, aroma, flavor and fiber from 17 trees. Parameters leaf width, number
pongge / fruit and no amount of pie keragaman. Pool superior genes, pungent
aroma and sweet flavor A5 found in tree ( tree to - II at the District Land Majawa
Lumbut Huta Java ) C1 and C2 trees (trees to I huta Sidomulyo and trees to
Sidouruk Huta -I in the District Siantar ). Correlation parameters of fruit with
thick flesh that is a real positive and the weight of the fruit ( 0.66 ), the number of
pie ( 0.82 ), the number pongge / pie (0.52 ), weight pongge ( 0.95 ). Correlation
parameters of fruit with thick flesh and a negative real parameters obtained infruit
diameter ( -0.80 ) and the number pongge / fruit ( -0.99 ).
