Demarcated into blue/white blocks of ten. Also numbered 1-100 where the units are 1cm. Ten blocks correspond to the tens stick of Dienes and the orange stick of Cuisenaire. A strong visual image – used alongside structured resources helps to develop conceptual understanding of place value, addition and subtraction of tens and units and grouping for multiplication and division. For the summer term we will have a new within living memory artefact collection on Leisure and holidays. Some of the contents are pictured here. Key Stage 2 Our Six Step Enquiry A beacon of light in the dark ages: The early Islamic civilization has just been released and is now available for purchase. Mayan resources:As well as our recent Getting to Grips with the Maya CD, we are now loaning a new mixed resources collection to support studies of the Mayan civilization.
