There always seems to be a handful of folks looking for a good windscreen for the more "DIRTBIKE" style DS bikes. So, I thought I'd share my DIY design. Easy to
make. The only tools necessary are a ruler (straight edge) a pencil, and a good blade. Ultra light weight. No alterations to the number plate. Solid as a rock at
over 100 mph. All you need is a plastic trash can 2" industrial strength velcro. ($12 Wal Mart) Supplies make two windscreens.

I didn't make this one, but obviously, they can be made of plexiglass as well.

Here's the template and measurements. You should be able to figure out the folds from the pics.
Template and Sterilite trash can I use.

I recommend the velcro mount so in the case of a high speed get off, it will just pull off without damaging the number plate or your neck! But as I said, it is plenty
solid. Give it a try. Let me know if it works for ya!

Very excellent. Would a heat gun help?

Excellent!

Another "must do" mod that is easy and inexpensive.
The velcro attachment will make it easy to install and remove.
Now I just need to stop and pick up a plastic donor
Big thank you!

I don't guess a heat gun woukd hurt, but I've never used one. The plastic is not really that hard to crease. I just use the heels of my hands to "pinch" it uo. You
don't have to fold it completely over. Just enough to make a good clean line.

I never thought of doing a vid for it, but I may give it a shot.

I will see if I can find the other threads covering this mod and post it on here to keep the info together. I know several folks have done the garbage can
windshield mod in the past.

I originally posted the windscreen on advrider but it was a long time ago. I'll try to find the link. I just shot an impromptu "how to" vid on it. My first ever btw.

So here's my first ever "how to" vid. Hope this helps. If anybody has any suggestions or new designs let me know.
