Hi everyone! We are well into 2015 now and it is
promising to be an exciting year for the Bradford Clinic.
Renovations are complete with just a few finishing
touches to go - the clinic is rapidly taking on its new
fresh look. We also have some exciting new plans.
Eva Bown, cosmetic tattooist, and Dr Chris Lekich, vein
specialist, will continue to visit the clinic on a regular

Autumn is now here, so it’s time to start to your
programme of yearly repair of summer and age-related
damage to your skin. Fraxels, IPL, omnilux and pigment
laser treatments are especially popular for reversing
the signs of sun-damage and for preventing premature

lines around the lips with a more long-lasting solution.

DERMERASE
FOR A MORE PERMANENT REDUCTION
IN PERI-ORAL LINES
Dermerase is a resurfacing technique
developed to reduce peri-oral lines. It is
performed with a dental block using a longacting local anaesthetic. The procedure takes
60 to 90 minutes to perform. There is downtime of 6 days and time off work is essential.
Immediately following the procedure, special
ointment is applied and a complimentary
omnilux treatment given. Once the local
anaesthetic wears off, there is a sunburnt
sensation that will last 24 hours. After this,
the treated area will feel tight.
A follow-up appointment is scheduled at the
clinic 6 days after the procedure, when the
treated area is cleaned, given 20 more minutes
of omnilux and sun-blocked. Sun-block needs
to be applied diligently until the pinkness of
the healing skin has gone. This usually takes
4 to 6 weeks. If sun-block is not applied,
pigmentation changes can occur.
BEFORE
Maximum results occur at about 12 weeks.
Small doses of muscle-relaxant may be
needed to maintain results. However, the
effect of dermerase lasts much longer than
dermal fillers in this area.
The procedure is suitable for women of all
ages with a pale to medium complexion.
Those who suffer from cold sores will need to
take prophylactic measures.
Patients considering dermerase need to have
a consultation so that they may be assessed
regarding their suitability for the treatment.
