Football Camp Information

Football Camp for the Stars - June 12-13, 2015
About the Camp
Football Camp for the Stars is especially for athletes with Down
syndrome who love football. With instruction from NFL football
players, along with NFL, college and prep school coaches, athletes
learn the fundamentals that put them in the middle of the action,
resulting in an authentic football experience.
Camp is open to anyone with Down syndrome age 13 and up.
Schedule
Camp will last from 5-8pm on June 12 and 9am-12 noon on June 13.
The first day will consist of fundamental training for each athlete, who
is accompanied throughout the camp by a volunteer. Day 2 will
feature more practice, along with lunch for all players as well as a
football scrimmage where all players will get the chance to play and
show off their new skills!

FAQs
Do you accept campers from out of state?
Yes, camp is open to any young man age 13+. Camps in other cities
feature out-of-state campers, and we have already heard from campers in
other states who want to attend. Ours will be no exception!
Do the campers actually play tackle football?
The camp is meant to be an authentic football experience. The coaches run
the campers through various football drills which mirror drills done at
various football training camps. Campers must fill out medical waivers so
that coaches and their assigned volunteers are aware of any medical issues
the campers may have. Drills are adjusted to each camper’s abilities. On
Saturday, a scrimmage game of flag football is played – this is a noncontact activity.
Can parents and friends stay at the camp with the campers?
Parents, siblings, caregivers and friends are welcome to stay and watch
both days of camp. For safety reasons, we ask that all spectators observe
the activities from the stands. We encourage everyone to come and watch
the scrimmage on Saturday at approximately 7:00pm.
Is dinner provided for the campers & families on both days of the
camp?
Dinner is included in the registration fee for the camper. Family and friends
may also take part – payment is not mandatory, but donations are
recommended and greatly appreciated!
What if I cannot afford the registration fee for my son?
Financial Aid/scholarships are available, based upon need.
