Actions need planning, gold needs refining, and people need understanding. I rejoice with Anebira because they are truly a Noble Race from the land of Jukun. They are among the unconquered races in history. The race that sent different signals to different Power Blocks. The race that when mentioned, evoke trepidation in the heart of detractors. The race that denounces oppression vehemently. MORE EULOGY The race whose ancestors gave birth to seven noble sons and they in turn built seven noble empires. The race whose offspring partake in the formation of modern Nigeria. The race that sits at the Tripod of Nigeria. This is the race whose unity and industriousness can define splendor for Nigeria via human and natural resources like Ajaokuta, Itakpe, Obajana and a host of tourist attractions. Anebira, you are the race that leads and others follow. The race that talks and others listen. Congratulations for being part of this Noble Race RESOLVE A lot has happened in the recent past both at: home and Diaspora. And I must say that these hideous happenings have left: bitter taste in our mouth. Our emergence is a circumstantial event, but our acts shall not be circumstantial. Our acts shall be deliberate, calculative, finely orchestrated, divinely inspired and scientifically executed STRUCTURAL INSTITUTIONS Structural Adjustments, Empowerment, Reforms and essential information given with due diligence and honesty shall be our watchword. My fellow Anebira, collective effort accelerates growth, Unity is Strength, but thinking is development. I want us to know that we are a nation within a nation, a kind within a kind. We must dignify our identity SWEET PAST When I was a kid, I thought and acted like a kid. As I grew older, I ran errands for elders and I listened and watched them doing things the elderly way. I advance encomiums to good past and present leaders in all walks of life. I respect the Rotary for what they bequeathed to the world; THE 4 WAY TEST. When subjected to Our ACTS, it reads (it shall be True: it shall Be Fair To All Concerned: It Shall Breed Goodwill and Better Friendship: It Shall Be Beneficial To All Concerned) FORGIVENESS For a start: Forgiveness is an essential ingredient in human relations. Let’s forgive one another so that we can begin the process of reconciliation, restitution and justice with love. Let’s respect the elders and let the elders care for the young. But we must be principled always. The best among us is he who finds out whether his/her brother has eaten, is he who teaches his brother how to catch fish, is he who shares his apparel with his brother, is he who secures the back of his brother. YOUR POSITION It is easy to count our problems as people, it is easy to ask what have our leaders done for us, it is easy to recount with nostalgia, deeds of eminent anebiras like Late Abdulaziz Attah, Raji Abdallah, AbduMalik Atta, Abdulrahman Okene, Sani Omolori etc, and even further backward, we have heard about exploit of great ones like Onumanyi, Okino, Achegidi, Avogude, Apata, Adangara, Osuwa, Obojo, Obege and then of recent, the Judiths, Etudaiyes, Atabas, A.T.Ahmed, Akkabas, Gominas, Bellos, Abatemis, Oniwons, Salawus, Amudas, etc. All these people came, saw, conquered, and their name bearers are doing exploits, conquering and flying high the flag of Ebira. Ask yourself, are you burying and embarrassing Ebira with your works and attitude or are you building Ebira with the talent God gave you? Posterity shall tell. And your name bearers shall be living witnesses. THE CALL Today I am in your midst, tomorrow I will be history and so it is for every one of us. Let’s build a common front, let’s build formidable structures that will survive the test of time. Greatness is not achieved on wishful thinking; it is not attained by anger, acrimonious bickering and gnashing of teeth to cow others. It is rather obtained vide progressive planning, insightful and articulate moves, oiled by focused and selflessness on the part of the leadership, while perseverance and encouragement flow from the populace. ORGANIZATIONS The Ebiras have actually come of age. Concerned and patriotic ones with time have set up several bodies, associations, groups, with a common mindset but working from different flanks. Some have done exceedingly well and others need lifting up, encouragement and redirection of efforts. Those already involved in NGOs activities are in the modern right direction and others should emulate them. There is much opportunity for Anebira when appropriately informed. (Much on this later). As for us, Economic Opportunities, Real Empowerment, Core Computer and Mathematics Training, AjaokutaItakpe revival, Industrialization and Information provision shall engage our productive time. Let’s start working in unison and bequeath positive legacies for our present and unborn generations of the Ebira. MISNOMERS & FACTS There are misnomers about Ebira that must be urgently corrected. While roaming, I have heard people, both young and old, haves and have-nots wore Ebira in myriad of shrouds: They said Ebira don’t love one another and I said no, Ebira love is ever ready, but should not be taken for weakness. Some said Ebira does not like contribution to development, I say no, Ebira want to know and see records and applications of past contributions. They also said that Ebiras are confrontational and I said no, Ebira only demand for their rights. They went ahead to say that Ebiras are wicked, and I said no, Ebira is principled and love timely justice. As if that is not enough, they said that Ebira don’t respect and I said no, Ebira love independence, they are not beggars because they are hardworking and as a royal race, they detest insult. Before condemning us, kindly take a look at EBIRA CORE VALUES and see if there is anything nobler. Nevertheless, there are five (5) classes of Anebira that have emerged in the recent past, NOTABLE EMERGENCE 1. The Active with Machiavellian Moves 2. The Active With Gracious Motives 3. The Nonchalant YOUR CHOICE Wherever we may belong above, we must remember that, The Only Ingredient Needed For Evil To Triumph Is For Good Men and women To Do Nothing. INVITATION Where are our doctors? Come and heal, our engineers and architects, come and reconstruct the land, our politicians, philosophers and thinkers come and churn out pragmatic vision and dreams for the people, our farmers, come and feed the people Where are the men of God? Come and lead the people back to God. Our artistes, come and portray the people in positive light. Business men, Investors and Industrialist come and establish in your father’s land. May the Almighty God protect and guide us right. REMEMBRANCE The great men and women of yester years are no more, but they left behind indelible marks. Great reforms and attitudinal change built America, Japan and Europe from ashes of destructions and perennial upheavals. Minnows have emerged and metamorphosed into giants. California may not be a country with seat at the UN, but they are well classified as among the top five economies in the world, this is not politics but engineered growth. The Ebira enclave can surpass California and we will WARNING The more we wait for crumbs to fall from elsewhere (Federal and State Treasuries), the more we place in jeopardy our lives and that of unborn generations. The more we wait for an Ebira to call the shots at Luggard house before starting NATION REBUILDING, You and I will simply pass away and joined the Inglorious List of wasted generations. Clans and subgroupings are natural creations occasioned by affinity, wishing it away is itself an illusion. What we do with them like other gifts of life is the issue, and that is what shall engage our productive time. Japan, like Ebira is filled with diversifications yet their oneness and positive utilizations of clans became their greatest strength. He who wants to do every thing may never do any thing. Give others some space and encouragement. The only way to have a friend is to be one. Declare yourself as one and act nobly. He who wants to eat alone may die alone and unsung, so share and receive grace, Let's plan our future from the present and though we take a cue from the past, we shall not dwell on the mishaps of the past. LOVE & TOLERANCE Let's be our brother’s keeper, say no to pessimistic clannish/ destructive sentiments. We can not develop by destroying our properties; we can not grow by killing one another. The Bring Down Syndrome is anathema. Let's not drive investors away from our land. Peace, Unity and Purposeful leadership is the bed rock of modern development. Remember, growth and development can only thrive in a stable society. Home is quite a place to stay when people stay there. SORROW My heart bleed when I heard that our youths who will soon be leaders of tomorrow, who are suppose to bring joy and happiness to our fathers and mothers, who are suppose to bring development to Ebira land were fast becoming human instruments that are destroying the little that has been built. I want you (the youths) to know that the disgruntled and faceless people sponsoring diverse unrests are only doing so for their own egotistical interest. BAD LEADERS No true leader that has the interest of the people at heart, who meant well for the people, will think of destroying good relics and attainments, how much more finance it. Remember that these evil-doers (tactless buffoons) have young ones like you. They engage in unbridled nepotism as primary assignments. They send their children to out-of-reach schools. They gratuitously impose their children on public institutions. They go extra length to protect the future of their children at the expense of your future, and disallow fair competition. They know that if they allow you sound education and a source of livehood, you will detest being their henchmen. And so, they deny you what is meant for you because they want you to remain their perpetual slaves. WAKE-UP I urge all Anebira to wake up from slumber and indulge in self reassessment. This is a wakeup call to all and sundry. Say NO to evil-minded people. Say NO to negative clannish sentiments, say NO to destruction of life and property.
