InterTrade ecCatalogue Information for Vendors Complete Guide for Hosting Images on ecCatalogue This document provides all the necessary information to upload and share Product Images with Retail Trading Partners. Getting started Accept the Image Hosting Service Terms Before using the service for the first time, your company needs to accept the Image Hosting Service Terms. The terms can be found under CATALOG \ Image Hosting Service in the Navigation Menu. Only users with the administrative role can accept the terms. Prepare Product Images according to the GS1 US General Merchandise & Apparel Industry Guideline General Merchandise and Apparel Retailers are expecting product images to be provided in accordance with the Best Practice Guideline for Product Image Exchange between Trading Partners developed by GS1 US/VICS. Please follow this guideline for creating, naming and associating data before uploading and maintaining product images. You can find more information on Product Image Attributes and obtain a copy of the Guideline in the Help documentation under the Product Image & Extended Attributes section. Step by Step Instructions for Uploading and Maintaining Product Images Step 1 – Set LocationType and Location Image Attributes to designate ecCatalogue as the location First, add Image attributes (or modify extisting Image attributes) to instruct ecCatalogue that you will be using the Image Hosting service to host your image files. Using your preferred method for maintaining your catalogue data, set the LocationType to ECC and the Location to ECCATALOGUE as represented below: The File Upload templates and the EDI 832 Mapping specifications are available in the Help documentation under the Product Image & Extended Attributes \ Publishing Product Image Attributes section. InterTrade 2014 1 InterTrade ecCatalogue Information for Vendors Step 2 – Upload Image Files that match your image attributes Once you have updated the Location and LocationType attributes, you can go to the CATALOG \ Image File Upload page to upload your image files. Only users with the administrative role can upload images. The Image File Upload page will allow you to either upload a single image file or upload a ZIP archive file containing multiple image files linked to one or multiple products in your Catalogue. When a single image file or a ZIP archive file is uploaded, ecCatalogue matches all image files provided with the images designated as being hosted on ecCatalogue (Step 1) by using the image file name. Therefore, it is very important that each file name of the image attributes in your catalogue data matches the file name of each file you upload on ecCatalogue. Important: Each Image File uploaded using the Image File Upload page must not exceed 10MB and the maximum size for ZIP archive files is 100MB. Other Options for Uploading and Maintaining Product Images Online upload using the Product Details page for quick modifications Image Files and Image Attributes can be maintained directly from the Product Details page in your Catalogue. This is very convenient when you need to quickly add, replace or delete image files related to a particular product. Please refer to the Help documentation under the Hosting Product Images section for more information. FTP for larger uploads If a 100MB ZIP archive is not enough to contain your images, you can also request an FTP access to ecCatalogue to upload ZIP archive files of up to 1 GB in size. To set up an account for FTP access, please contact us at [email protected] or call us at 800-873-7803 option #2. InterTrade 2014 2 InterTrade ecCatalogue Information for Vendors Important: When sending a ZIP archive file by FTP to ecCatalogue, you must use your ecCatalogue Alias to name your file as follow: YOURALIAS_myFile.ZIP A maximum of 10GB can be transmitted per FTP session Troubleshooting Tips for Image Upload Review the File Upload history The best way to find out how the uploaded images were processed is to review the File Upload history section on the CATALOG \ Image File Upload page. When ecCatalogue is not able to match files uploaded via the Image File Upload page, Product Details page or FTP, the exceptions are logged in a downloadable report (see above). Use this report to find out why the processing failed, then make the adjustments in the Image attributes or in your Image files and resubmit. Key points to remember: - Each uploaded file must already be defined in your catalogue data using the Image attributes. LocationType and Location Image attributes must be set to ECC and ECCATALOGUE. An Image file must not exceed 10MB in size. A ZIP archive containing images must not exceed 100MB in size when uploaded online or 1GB when transmitted by FTP. When transmitting by FTP, your ecCatalogue Alias must be used to name your ZIP archive file. How Retailers Retrieve Product Images Hosted on ecCatalogue Retailers to which you have granted FULL or PARTIAL access to your Catalogue will be able to access your Product Image files. Online retrieval using the Product Details All Product Images defined in your Catalogue data, whether they are hosted on ecCatalogue or not, can be found in the Product Details pages under the Image tab.
