Ethics and Integrity (a personal perspecMve) What is Ethics? What is Integrity? Ethics is the outer influence such as rules of
conduct or laws that governs how we should
behave. Integrity is the inner set of moral principles or
believes that guides our behaviour.
Ethics + Integrity = Moral Behaviors
Ref: Bob Czimbal and Michele Brooks, Ethics and Integrity Christchurch CTV Building Ø  The engineer Gerald Shirtcliff who
supervised the construction of the CTV
building is a man of ‘Great Power’.
Ø  He did not act responsibly by following the
industry construction code and exercise
his integrity.
Ø  He fake his engineering degree by
stealing his old colleagues identity and
ask his father to complete most of his
work on Master in highway engineering.
Ø  115 people died in the Canterbury
Television Building.

Example Your Boss asked you to sell a particular product to
a customer, you know that the product is not what
the customer needs but if you don’t sell that
product to the customer you may not reach your
sales target and potentially can lose your job.
What will you do?
