Brilliant lighting. Bright white LED Daytime Running Lamps and new
fiber-optic LED taillamps help make your presence more apparent to
other drivers. With the optional Lighting Package, Bi ‑Xenon headlamps
generate light that’s perceived more like natural daylight than halogen
lamps. They also feature two advanced systems that continuously vary
the angle and beam pattern of the headlamps: Active Curve Illumination
swivels the beams as you steer into corners. And Adaptive Highbeam
Assist maximizes the illumination of straightaways, without causing glare
for other drivers. The package also includes headlamp washers.
High-strength body. Approximately 70% of the GLK‑Class body structure
is made from ultra-high- and high-strength steel. Beyond its advanced
crumple zones, the structure is also designed to help to divert impact
energy over, under and around the reinforced passenger cabin.
DISTRONIC PLUS. A Mercedes -Benz innovation and new GLK option,
this radar-based cruise control adapts your set speed in response to the
flow of traffic ahead — automatically slowing until your path is clear again.
If the vehicle ahead slows to a stop, DISTRONIC PLUS® can also brake to
a full halt, then resume automatically when traffic starts going.11
ATTENTION ASSIST. By continually monitoring a variety of driving
behaviors, this Mercedes -Benz innovation can audibly and visually alert
the driver if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips. More than
70 variables are measured to establish a pattern in the first minutes
of each drive and determine the warning thresholds accordingly.6
Active Blind Spot and Lane Keeping Assists. These optional systems
can alert you to some unseen vehicles in the adjacent lane,7 and can
warn you of unintended drifting across visible lane markings.6 Both
systems are also available with advanced active technology that can help
guide the car back into its own lane if the driver disregards the alerts.
Rear view camera. When you shift into Reverse, this option shows a live
color image of the area right behind your GLK on the in-dash screen.8
Accident avoidance. Two systems pioneered by Mercedes - Benz help
you avoid potential collisions. ESP monitors the vehicle’s response to
such driving inputs as steering and braking, and responds to help keep
the vehicle on course during extreme maneuvers.3 And Brake Assist
can automatically maximize braking pressure if it detects an emergency
braking situation, potentially shortening your overall stopping distance.9
Adaptive braking. The 4 ‑ wheel disc brakes incorporate technology to
help make driving more reassuring and relaxing in a variety of situations.
If the driver lifts off the accelerator quickly, Predictive Brake Priming sets
the pads closer to the discs for quicker response when the driver steps
on the brakes. In the rain, Automatic Brake Drying periodically applies
the brakes just enough to sweep away water buildup on the discs. During
uphill starts, Hill -Start Assist helps prevent unwanted rollback. And a
HOLD feature can help make driving in stop-and - go traffic easier.9
Towing. Every GLK‑Class can tow up to 3,500 lbs when equipped with
the optional trailer hitch.10 Standard Trailer Stability Assist integrates with
the sensors for ESP to help detect trailer oscillation when towing.
PRE - SAFE Brake. Even if you’re not using cruise control, DISTRONIC
PLUS can help detect an impending collision with a vehicle ahead. Its
PRE‑SAFE® Brake system can alert the driver and automatically apply up
to 100% braking force, to help reduce the severity of an impact.9
Advanced restraints. Nine standard air bags offer 11-way protection.12
Dual -stage front air bags are augmented by a driver’s knee air bag.
Innovative pelvic air bags complement the front-seat side-impact air
bags. Side curtain air bags are provided at all four outboard seating
positions, as are seat- belt Emergency Tensioning Devices (ETDs) and
belt-force limiters. And in a rear impact, NECK‑PRO® active front head
restraints can respond to help reduce whiplash-type injuries.
Post-collision response. If an air bag or ETD deploys, the standard
Mercedes -Benz mbrace® system’s Automatic Collision Notification can
initiate a call to our 24 ‑hour emergency response center — even if you
cannot.4 The GLK‑Class can also automatically shut off its engine and
fuel supply, and turn on the hazard flashers and some interior lights.

Teamwork. An elegant central controller on the
console and a multifunction steering wheel team
up with a 4.5" display within the speedometer and
a standard 5.8" LCD screen in the central dash.

vehicle settings. The standard Bluetooth system
lets you enjoy hands -free calling and wireless
audio streaming from your digital music player.14

in tight quarters. The rear view camera8 provides
active on -screen guidelines that adapt as you turn
the steering wheel. And PARKTRONIC’s ultrasonic
sensors and in-cabin displays help you to avoid
nearby obstacles. Its new Active Parking Assist
feature surveys the open parallel- parking spots as
you drive by — sizing them up and letting you know
which are a good fit. Then, as you back into your
chosen space, the system automatically takes care
of the steering for you. All you need to do to park

The GLK’s engineers spent years traversing 1.5 million miles of punishing terrain, Arctic winters and African deserts to give it the rugged capability of a Mercedes -Benz SUV. But that
didn’t stop them from making its cabin a most comforting habitat. Cleverly packaged within its easy-to-manage exterior dimensions is a flexibly accommodating space that’s outfitted
in finely crafted luxury. Precisely stitched upholstery is hand-fitted to the 8‑way power front seats, and to the split rear seats that fold flat in a single motion. Burl Walnut wood trim is
polished by hand to a rich, warm glow. A team of invisible valets supports the driver, adjusting the wipers to the rainfall, activating the headlamps in darkness, and scouring dust and
pollen from the climate-controlled air. And a wide selection of options lets you tailor its luxury to fit your needs and wishes, from heated front seats to a household -type power outlet,
and from supple leather to extended ambient interior lighting. Its agility, size and rigorous training have made the GLK physically fit. Its versatile, refined cabin makes it a perfect fit.
Attentive. The front seats offer 8‑way power adjustment plus
a manual lumbar support for the driver. The steering column
tilts and telescopes. With the optional Premium 1 Package,
the driver seat adds a 3 ‑position memory system that also
recalls the settings for the power-adjustable steering column
and side mirrors, as well as a 4 -way power lumbar support.
The Leather Package adds a memory system for the front
passenger seat, multi- adjustable front head restraints, and
fiber-optic LED ambient lighting from beneath the wood trim.
Agreeable. Standard dual - zone automatic climate control
allows the driver and front passenger to peacefully coexist
in individualized comfort. To help assure more consistent
comfort for everyone aboard, the system includes adjustable
rear- cabin air vents, dust and pollen filtration, as well as a
sensor that monitors the position and intensity of the sun.
Adaptable. The 60/40 - split rear seatbacks fold to create
up to 54.7 cu ft of cargo space18 — without needing to flip up
the cushions first. The liftgate opens virtually level with the
carpeted cargo floor, while a chrome load - sill plate helps
protect the rear bumper. Luggage - area luxuries also include
a 12‑ volt power port and a retractable cargo cover. With the
Premium 1 Package, a power liftgate fully opens or closes
with a touch of a button, to help make loading and unloading
easier — especially when it’s raining or your arms are full.
The package also adds a household-type 115- volt AC power
outlet that lets you charge your laptop or camera, or plug in
a portable gaming console, without using a special adapter.
Approachable. Optional KEYLESS‑GO® lets you unlock your
GLK and start its engine without taking the key from your
pocket. For easier nighttime driving, auto- dimming inside
and driver- side mirrors are part of the Premium 1 Package,

insufficient to alert a fatigued or distracted driver of lane drift and cannot be relied on to avoid an accident or serious injury. Lane

responsibility at all times to be attentive to traffic and road conditions, and to provide the steering, braking and other driving inputs
necessary to retain control of the vehicle. Drivers are cautioned not to wait for the DISTRONIC Proximity Warning System before
braking, as that may not afford sufficient time and distance to brake safely. After braking the car for stopped traffic ahead, system
resumes automatically only if traffic pauses for less than 3 seconds.
