Spring Fair activity instructions

INSTRUCTIONS
Cake &Treasure Walk – 2 Tickets (Gym Stage)
- Cakes will be delivered to the school on Friday, May 29 or Saturday morning,
May 30. The cakes and treasures will be on the stage when the first shift begins. - Volunteers will accept tickets only, no cash. These tickets should be placed in the
container provided. - There will be 2 volunteers for each 30 minute shift from 11:00am to 2:00 pm. A
master list of volunteers will be posted by the community entrance to the school. -
One volunteer will take the tickets & help the players. The other volunteer
will play the music & award the cake or treasure

Instructions will generally be provided by the previous volunteer. o “Numbered Squares” will be taped to the floor of the stage.
o For each round, position one person adjacent to each number square on
the floor, start the music and have the people walk around the squares
in a circle until you stop the music.
o Draw a numbered chit from the bin. The person standing next to the
paper which matches the number drawn wins a cake.
- At 2:00pm (or when cakes and treasures are all gone):
o Clean up area, gather “number squares” and put in girls locker room
o leave leftover cakes (if there are any) neatly on stage
o deliver ticket container to 4D classroom (across hallway from gym
doors)
o roll up poster and put in girls locker room

INSTRUCTIONS
BBQ (Outside)

There will be several volunteers for each 30 minute shift from 11:00am2:00pm. A master list of volunteers will be posted by the community
entrance to the school.

Volunteers will accept tickets or cash. Tickets should be placed in the
container provided. Cash to be placed in the cash box provided.
-
Price list will be posted at the activity station.
- Volunteers will help as directed by Colleen Rollings and Don Hailstone.
Duties may include:
o taking cash and/or tickets
o taking food orders
o cooking sausages and hot dogs
o replacing supplies as needed
o keeping work stations clear
o emptying garbage

Last shift ends at 2:00pm:
o wipe down tables & clean up area
o deliver cash box to 4D classroom (across hallway from gym doors)
o roll up poster and put in girls locker room
o return PTG tables and ticket container to girls locker room

Instructions
Snow Cones – 2 tickets (Gym)
There will be 2 volunteers for each 30 minute shift from 11:00am to 2:00 pm. A
master list of volunteers will be posted by the community entrance to the school.

Volunteers will accept tickets only, no cash. These tickets should be placed
in the container provided.

Instructions will generally be provided by the previous volunteer. One
volunteer will take tickets & scoop crushed ice. The other volunteer will
handle the syrup.
-
How to prepare a snow cone:
o Fill cup with crushed ice.
o Allow child to choose syrup flavour.
o Pump 2 squirts of syrup on crushed ice. DO NOT OVER PUMP OR
WE WILL RUN OUT!

The snow cone machine will need to be refilled with ice & the syrup bottles
replaced periodically. All supplies will be available.

Wet wipes and napkins will be provided.
-
Last shift ends at 2:00pm:
o wipe down table & clean up surrounding area
o neatly organize left-over supplies
o take ticket container to girls locker room
o return PTG tables to girls locker room
o roll up poster and put in girls locker room

INSTRUCTIONS
Popcorn – 1 ticket (Gym)

There will be 1-2 volunteers for each 30 minute shift from 11:00am to 2:00
pm. A master list of volunteers will be posted by the community entrance to
the school.

Volunteers will accept tickets only, no cash. These tickets should be placed
in the container provided.
-
Instructions will generally be provided by the previous volunteer. One
volunteer will take tickets. The other volunteer will scoop fresh popcorn into
a bag and hand it to the customer. Volunteers should trade places
periodically. Customers will be able to choose which flavour shaker they
wish to shake into their bag of popcorn.

More popcorn should be popped if the supply gets low. Follow the
manufacturer’s instructions posted on the popcorn machine:
o Measure out correct amount of oil with the measuring cup provided.
o Add the required amount of popcorn kernels to the machine.
o After all kernels have popped, add the correct amount of butter
flavouring to the popped popcorn.

Fishpond – 1 ticket (Gym)

There will be 2 volunteers for each 30 minute shift from 11:00am to 2:00pm.
A master list of volunteers will be posted by the community entrance to the
school.

Volunteers will accept tickets only, no cash. Tickets should be placed in the
container provided.

One volunteer will take the ticket & help the player with his/her fishing pole.
The other volunteer will hide behind the fish pond panel and clip a prize to
the end of the fishing pole. Volunteers should communicate to indicate
whether a girl or boy is fishing so the other volunteer can select the
appropriate prize.

Last shift ends at 2:00pm:
o clean up area.
o deliver ticket container to girls locker room
o fold up fishpond panel & fishing poles and bring to girls locker room.
o bring any remaining prizes to girls locker room.
o roll up poster and put in girls locker room

INSTRUCTIONS
Toilet Toss – 1 ticket (Gym)

There will be 1-2 volunteers for each 30 minute shift from 11:00am to
2:00pm. A master list of volunteers will be posted by the community
entrance to the school.

Volunteers will accept tickets only, no cash. Tickets should be placed in the
container provided.

Each player gets 3 chances to throw a roll of toilet paper into the pretend
toilet.
-
If the player gets a toilet paper roll in the toilet, he/she can pick out a prize.

o bring toilet toss game & toilet paper rolls to girls locker room

INSTRUCTIONS
Sucker Pull – 1 Ticket (Gym)

There will be 1-2 volunteers for each 30 minute shift 11:00am to 2:00pm. A
master list of volunteers will be posted by the community entrance to the
school.

Volunteers will accept tickets only, no cash. Tickets should be placed in the
container provided.

Suckers will be sticking up from a large Styrofoam sheet. Suckers will be
marked on the stick hidden in the Styrofoam. Players who do not pull a
marked sucker get to keep their sucker. Players who pull a marked sucker
win a larger prize plus their sucker.
-
Volunteers should replenish suckers as needed. 400 suckers will be provided.

o bring Styrofoam sheet to girls locker room

INSTRUCTIONS
Duck Races 1 Ticket (Outside)
There will be 2 volunteers for each 30 minute shift from 11:00am- 2:00pm. A
master list of volunteers will be posted by the community entrance to the school.

Volunteers will accept tickets only, no cash. Tickets should be placed in the
container provided.

Up to four players can compete against each other. Each player will be
given a rubber duck and a water gun. The object of the game is to race the
ducks to the end of the trough using the water from the water gun to push the
duck along. The first person to reach the finish line wins and will be
awarded a prize.
-
Buckets of water will be provided to fill water guns and replenish water
troughs.
-
Last shift ends at 2:00pm:
o clean up area
o deliver ticket container to girls locker room
o empty the water from the troughs
o roll up poster and put in girls locker room
o bring ducks, water guns & buckets to girls locker room
o bring any leftover prizes to girls locker room

INSTRUCTIONS
Lucky Loot Bag – 2 tickets (Gym)

There will be 2 volunteers for each 30 minute shift from 11:00am to 2:00pm.
A master list of volunteers will be posted by the community entrance to the
school.

Volunteers will accept tickets only, no cash. Tickets should be placed in the
container provided.
-
There are 400 numbered loot bags hanging from the climbing structure in
the gym.
-
The player chooses a numbered popsicle stick from the container. The other
volunteer will search the wall to find the corresponding numbered bag.
Remove the loot bag from the hanging structure and give it to the player.
The player’s numbered popsicle stick is put aside.
-
Last shift ends at 2:00pm (or when loot bags are all gone):
o clean up area – remove leftover ribbons hanging from climbing
structure
o deliver ticket container to girls locker room
o bring any leftover loot bags to girls locker room
o roll up poster and bring to girls locker room
o bring numbered popsicle sticks to girls locker room

INSTRUCTIONS
Hockey Shoot – 1 Ticket (Outside)

There will be 1-2 volunteers for each 30 minute shift from 11:00am2:00pm. A master list of volunteers will be posted by the community
entrance to the school.

Volunteers will accept tickets only, no cash. Tickets should be placed in the
container provided.

Each player gets 3 shots to hit the targets in the hockey net.
-
Young children should hit 1 target to win a prize. Adults & children over age
8 should hit both targets to win a prize.
-
A prize is awarded if the player hits the correct number of targets.
-
Last shift ends at 2:00pm:
o clean up area
o deliver ticket container to girls locker room
o bring pucks & targets to girls locker room
o bring any leftover prizes to girls locker room
o arrange sticks, mat and hockey net by community entrance doors.

INSTRUCTIONS
Plinko Game –1 Ticket (Gym)

There will be 2 volunteers for each 30 minute shift from 11:00am to 2:00
pm. A master list of volunteers will be posted by the community entrance to
the school.
Volunteers will accept tickets only, no cash. Tickets should be placed in the
container provided.
One volunteer will take the ticket & award the prizes. The other volunteer
will help the child place his/her Plinko chip onto the Plinko board (this may
require the child to stand on a stool).

How to play Plinko:
o Lay a Plinko chip flat against the top of the Plinko board.
o Take aim at the prize you want to win by lining up the chip within an
area where it can bounce around the board until it lands in the slot.
o Release the chip and watch it bounce and travel through the maze
until it reaches one of the bottom slots.
-
Prizes will be awarded according to the bottom slot in which the chip lands:
o Blue = Try Again
o Pink = Prize
o Orange = Free Activity Ticket
The first volunteer will give the prize to the child. Free activity tickets will
be available.

The last shift ends at 2:00pm:

o bring Plinko game & Plinko chips to girls locker room
o roll up poster and bring to girls locker room

INSTRUCTIONS
Inflatables (Outside)

There will be 1 volunteer for each 30 minute shift from 11:00am- 2:00pm. A
master list of volunteers will be posted by the community entrance to the
school.

Volunteers will accept tickets only, no cash. Tickets should be placed in the
container provided.
- Volunteer will take the tickets, and help children remove their shoes & enter
the inflatable.
- Glow Promotions will provide one attendant for the inflatables.
- The attendant will advise when the time is up.
- The volunteers will then help children exit the bouncy and get their shoes
back on.

Soccer Shoot – 1 Ticket (Outside)

There will be 1-2 volunteers for each 30 minute shift from 11:00am2:00pm. A master list of volunteers will be posted by the community
entrance to the school.

Volunteers will accept tickets only, no cash. Tickets should be placed in the
container provided.

Each player gets 3 shots to hit the boot hanging from the centre of the soccer
net in the field with a soccer ball.
-
Young children should kick closer to the net. Adults & children over age 8
should kick from further away. Markings will be placed on the field.
-
A prize is awarded if the player hits the target.

Last shift ends at 2:00pm:

o bring soccer balls to school gym

Children will choose what they want to purchase from the General Store.
Different items will be worth different numbers of tickets. All items will be
marked with their ticket value.

INSTRUCTIONS
Pickinz Game - 1 Ticket (Outside)

There will be 2 volunteers for each 30 minute shift from 11:00am- 2:00pm.
A master list of volunteers will be posted by the community entrance to the
school.

Volunteers will accept tickets only, no cash. Tickets should be placed in the
container provided.
- The object of the game is to reach into the nose of the painted face and
hopefully find a prize, not green slime. Volunteers can judge whether to put
the child’s hand in the slime or to give them a prize.
-
Kleenex and baby wipes will be provided to wash children’s hands after they
touch the green slime.
-
The container of green slime should be exchanged every hour for a fresh
container of slime.
-
