The name Electro Diesel came into being during 1959 when Mr CC Steyn started a family business in Marikana, the then rural and agricultural district of Rustenburg. As the town of Rustenburg grew from rural status to the fastest growing city in the North-West Province, the business also evolved from a small individually owned enterprise into a duly registered private company. Subsequent to Mr Steyn’s retirement from active business participation, the business was taken over by Mr Jaap Kroon who is currently holding the position of Managing Director. Thereafter the Steelpoort branch was established in 2006 following a Midas Franchise in 2009 and ACDC Franchise in 2013. In 2014 the Company furthermore expanded their marketing footprint with Branches in Kathu, (Northern Cape) opening on January 2014 and Welkom (Free State) & Jetpark (Johannesburg) in September 2014. Since 2011 Electro Diesel implemented a black employee trust and all previous disadvantage employees are beneficiaries of this trust. One of the most integral tools for any big company is a competent and capable service department. Electro Diesel also boasts a 24 hour standby service team consisting of 27 field service mobile units. All vehicles are fully equipped and stocked with the necessary spares and material to resolve any emergency. We provide superior service to contracted as well as non-contracted clients. Our ingredients in the supplying of the finest products include: affordable business solutions, leading industry brands, excellent service, short response times, solid relationships, and attention to detail. What further sets us apart is our ability to develop and maintain mutually beneficial long-term business relationships. We like to call this the "Electro Way of Life". Our Auto- Electrical department service, sell and repair equipment including, Letrika, Bosch, Motorola, Nippon Denso, Presto light, Delco Remy, and Monark. 5.2 Engine Protection Department As agents for Lubrivent, Lubrilec, EPS901 and NAE Monitor Systems, a full range of spares and equipment are carried to install and maintain these systems. New installations carry a guarantee of one year, whilst workmanship and materials on repairs are covered for 3 months. 5.3 Field Services Our 24 hour standby service ensures that our customers are always our first concern. Our staffs are fully equipped to handle any emergency. 5.4 Mining supplies We carry a wide variety of products and tools to assist in any emergency. 5.5 Engineering workshop We have a fully equipped workshop to manufacture and handle all break downs. 5.6 Electrical Reticulation We now offer High Voltage and medium voltage down to 24 volt AC support and services. We have also developed a number of policies in order to comply with the Employment Equity Act and to constitute fair labour practice in our workplace.
