S
cott Capalbo is one of
those East Coast guys that
moved to the Phoenix area
to enjoy the year-round riding. He
misses his buddies, he misses a
good slice of pizza, but he will never miss the snow. When you grow
up on the East Coast, you ride your
bike for six months out of the year
and then tear it down and work on
it for the other six months. When
you live in Mesa, AZ, you want as
little downtime as possible. Scott
was able to transform his Bagger
from mild to wild in 2.5 months.
Originally, Scott was going for a
mild customization. He purchased
his 2000 Electra Glide used. The
original owner had taken great care

of the bike. Scott was all set to go
with a 21” wheel until the devils on
his shoulder -Chris Clauser and
Doug Eggleston- convinced him
to go with a 23”. By increasing the
front wheel size the entire scope of
the project was increased. Luckily
for Scott, he has some great contacts for Bagger parts.
Evil Twin rebuilt the motor. The
stock 88” Twin Cam was upgraded
to a 103”. A 42mm Mikuni carburetor delivers the fuel while a Ness
Big Sucker makes sure the big engine can breathe. Rinehart exhaust
evacuates the gasses. Fast Track
raked the frame and increased the
neck rake to 45º to accommodate
the 23” front wheel. Scott and Dave,

from Fast Track, built the handlebars
that sit on Fast Track risers and feature Avon grips. Jim Michaud, from
Custom Paint and Body, gave Scott
a crash course in working with fiberglass and ABS. Jim also supplied
the fenders and saddlebags. Scott
took what he learned from Jim and
stretched the fairing by two inches.
He raised the top of the fairing to
match the rear fender and made air
ducts which house the turn signals.
Scott fabricated the stretched gas
tank himself. If you ever run into
Scott, ask him about the first tank
that almost blew him up.
Scott and Chris fabricated the
bag lids using foam to get the
shape and then laid fiberglass
over the foam. Unique Car Audio

for setting the bar so high with their

T
he people voted and Chandler Harley-Davidson’s 2011 Street Glide, Hollywood, is the
Baddest Bagger in Arizona. Greg Le Blanc
was the project manager and the goal was to build
a show-winning Bagger without losing the bike’s
ride-ability. Greg also wanted to show the level of
customization that Chandler Harley is capable of.
In the world of competitive Bagger customizing
that is Phoenix AZ’s big scene, Chandler H-D has
thrown their hat in the ring and they want everybody to know that they are serious contenders.

A Screamin’ Eagle Performance Race Clutch kit

Paul Yaffe Yafterburner tubes and Arlen Ness Hot

of Legend Air Suspensions shocks were installed.

win for a Harley dealer’s Bagger to
win Baddest Bagger in Arizona. It
impresses me when a Harley dealer
embraces the best that the aftermarket and Harley have to offer and
ends up with a great custom Bagger. For your own Hollywood Bagger you can find more information
