The dash layout remained the same as in the past. Upholstery colors were limited to beige or red, but six nitrocellulose lacquer finishes were available; Oxynx Black, Polo White, Venetian Red, Cascade Green, Azte Copper and Arctic Blue. Vehicle Identification Numbers were the same as for previous models with the number symbols changed as follows E56S001001 to E56S004467. Starting engine numbers were 0001001 and up at each assembly plant, with an 'F' Flint, Michigan and 'T' Tonawanda, New York. Suffixes were as follows; 'GV' for 265 cubic inch V-8 with Synchromesh; 'GU' for 265 cubic inch V-8 with two, four-barrel carburetors and high-lift camshaft; 'GR' for regular 265 cubic inch dual four-barrel V-8; 'FK' for 265 cubic inch V-8 with Powerglide and 'FG' for latter V-8 combinations with dual four-barrel carburetors.
