As a Network Engineer at iRobot you wil designs, implement, monitor and evaluate security and
performance of network systems. You will make recommendations for improvements and upgrades. In
addition, the you will assists in the development and implementation of both technical and security
standards. Provide hands-on technical assistance and resolution for all network and production server
based issues. You are responsible for the network performance and security needs of critical networks
and business application, and you will provide support and project management services for all aspects
of IT infrastructure and provides for pro-active network monitoring or all critical network infrastructure
components as well as SLA level uptime reporting for our network provider.
Essential Functions/ Job Duties:
 Help define and implement overall network security strategies.
 Responsible for documentation, installation, configuration and management of all aspects of the
network architecture
 Responsible for the installation, support and maintenance of all network equipment.
 Accountable for pro-active performance monitoring, uptime and SLA reporting
 Partner with business units as needed to assist them in planning and then achieving their
departmental goals.
 Assists the IT team in defining, documenting and implementing necessary steps to improve
network architecture and security
 Interfaces with the various business departments to plan, define and implement future
technologies
 Management of the Cisco wireless network used at all locations
 Evaluate new and emerging technologies for use atiRobot

Act as project lead or task owner on various infrastructure projects
 Participate in on-call rotation in support of 24X7
Qualifications:
Education Minimum
College degree preferred, ideally in computer science or related field, however strong and highly
relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education
 Professional certification with Cisco and CheckPoint
Required Skills and Experience:

Expert understanding of TCP/IP addressing and subnetting
 Thorough understanding of Cisco IOS, NX-OS and CheckPoint firewalls
 Experience with the use of protocol analyzers and network test equipment
 Experience and a strong working knowledge of Routing, Switching, Cisco Prime, Cisco Wifi, QoS,
SNMP, network monitoring tools and remote administration
 Cisco routers, ASA, VPN and Switch support and configuration experience
 Experience with administration and support of all Microsoft or Linux operating systems
 Experience with clustering, SAN technologies and support of high availability infrastructure
(24X7)
 Creative problem solving skills
 Strong customer support, time management and IT project management skills
 Excellent communication (verbal & written) and teamwork skills
 Ability to effectively communicate complex and detailed concepts to others
 Strong scripting skills are a plus
 Current CCNA is required
