We were told to stop, look and listen, to watch where we were going, and to always cross the road in a straight line. We learnt that the ‘bumpy bits’ at the end of the path by the road were there to help blind people cross the road. Even though it was raining we really enjoyed the pedestrian training! These are the statutory tests that Year 6 have to sit. The children have worked really hard and are well prepared. Hopefully they will get plenty of sleep and will remember to bring a bottle of water with them to help their brains keep hydrated. It will be great when the week is over! Year 2 children have papers which they undertake over a few weeks. These are marked internally and the results are merely used to inform our teacher assessment. Years 3– 5 children will undertake optional SATs papers and again, these are just used to form part of the picture of where the pupils in the core subjects.
