the escort cards
In lieu of hiring a calligrapher,
Freddie printed the names of
guests in light grey ink on ivory
place cards, and then traced
over the print with black pen.
the bridal bouquet
The bride carried full and
vibrant roses, tulips, godetia and
alstroemeria in shades of peach
and coral. The bridesmaids carried
similar, but smaller bouquets.
“I do believe in love at first
sight, but it didn’t happen to
either one of us,” says Freddie Geppert (28 and
an elementary school teacher). She and Brian
Eklund (28 and a construction project manager)
hung out with the same circle of friends for about
four years before sparks flew. Then one Christmas
everything changed. They were soon buying a
house together and then, two-and-a-half years
later, Brian proposed to Freddie with a humorous
twist. During one of their weekly date nights,
Brian got down on one knee and pulled out a
four-carat pink stone set. Freddie cringed, but
held her tongue and said yes. Then, Brian asked
her if she wanted to see her “real ring.” “It was
perfect!” says Freddie. —CC

the exit
After exchanging vows, the bride
and groom left the ceremony
under a shower of festive confetti.
the cake
“We saw the design in the cake shop
and fell in love with it,” says Freddie.
A peach fondant, flowering branch
gave the three-tiered confection a
summery, elegant feel.

the formalwear
To keep the guys cool in the Georgia
heat, Brian chose light seersucker
suits with a bright coral-print tie
and simple rose boutonnieres.

the ceremony
Freddie and Brian got married

was a swath of coral and peach
rose petals along the aisle.
