This Christmas season over 100 UK based designer makers will showcase the best of contemporary fine crafts in all disciplines across fashion and Interiors over three days at the historic and beautiful Chelsea Old Town Hall. The show is an inspiring alternative to the high street and a unique opportunity to browse exceptional crafts, buy unique and handmade gifts or commission a bespoke piece of work. This is a luxury shopping experience with added value, a very special chance to buy directly from the makers and discover the inspirations and processes behind the work of Britain’s most skilled craftspeople. Handmade in Britain 14: The Contemporary Crafts & Design Fair offers a unique opportunity to explore British contemporary crafts in a showcase of innovative design alongside exceptional craftsmanship presenting a rich variety of form, function and style… Indulge your wardrobe this Christmas with luxury fashion and accessories, each piece handmade and unique… Renowned textile artist Carole Waller presents effortlessly wearable art in rich hand painted silk garments and Nottingham’s Yakshi Malhotra showcases her collection of luxury knitwear and scarves. Taisir Gibreel’s vibrant silk scarf collection is based on original hand drawings and celebrates colour, culture and diversity and Jane Hopkinson presents sculptural shapes, clean lines and striking tones in her handmade leather handbags. Architectural influences are present in Jewellery designer Sarah Herriot’s cutting edge, CAD designed pieces with silver, gold and rubber, and Beth Gilmour presents her award-winning collections featuring bi-coloured stones, shaded gold and signature intricate leaf patterns. Amongst the covetable pieces for your home discover a wealth of gift ideas to explore in time for Christmas… Scotland’s Sian Patterson creates ceramics as ‘functional still life’ and showcases a quiet collection of work both familiar and distinctive, and Jonathan Rogers’ glass work presents an exploration of texture, pattern and a layering of colour in pieces that are modern, understated and elegant. Daniel Latorre-Cruz exhibits handmade paper lighting rendered from recycled paper and tree fibres and Sarah Grove exhibits her textile-inspired bowls, jugs and vases from her collection of buttoned, patchwork and quilted ceramics.
