About EucheMS Congresses
European Chemistry Congresses are the most relevant
events for the European Chemistry community. Chemists
from all parts of Europe, come together to present and
discuss the latest achievements in cutting edge chemical
sciences. There is no other occasion where chemists from
different countries, all areas of chemistry and various
professional backgrounds can converge in one place.
EuCheMS congresses are unique fora to foster transnational exchange and collaboration, to encourage dialogue
between the different branches of chemistry, to bring
academia, industry and decision makers together and to
emphasize the impact of chemistry and chemical research
in our society. Special attention is given to all activities
which help promote careers of young scientists.
A high level Scientific Committee and a strongly committed
Organising Committee ensure the highest possible quality
of each congress. The scientific contributions include 8
plenary lectures offered by top class world scientists and
Nobel Laureates, over 100 invited speakers and around
2.000 scientific communications which conform a geographically and thematically balanced program of exciting
cutting edge chemistry.
Since the first EuCheMS congress in 2006, this biennial
“family gathering” of European Chemists has been successfully organised in five editions:2016 is the turn for Seville, Spain,

About EuCheMS
About ANQUE
EuCheMS is a non-profit organisation founded in 1970. Its object is to
promote co-operation in Europe between non-profit scientific and
technical societies in the field of chemistry and molecular sciences.
EuCheMS has 42 member societies which together represent more
than 150,000 chemists in academia, industry, government and
professional organisations in 31 countries across Europe. EuCheMS
has several Divisions and Working Groups which cover all areas of
chemistry and bring together world class expertise in the
underpinning science and development needed for innovation.
With over 70 years of history, ANQUE is today a
prestigious professional association with over
9,000 members. It is the largest association of
Spain, headquartered in Madrid and with local
offices in all Spanish Autonomous Communities.
EuCheMS is based in Brussels and incorporates the role and responsibilities of the former Federation of European Chemical Societies and
Professional Institutions (FECS) which adopted the name EuCheMS in
2004.
ANQUE's mission is to be the Spanish voice of
Chemistry and Chemical Technology and defend
the interests and image of the profession, raise the
scientific and professional profile and achieve
greater recognition through social awareness
while representing the hub of its members
interdisciplinary network before public authorities
The activities of EuCheMS, as a supranational organization, are
focussed on:
• Increasing the visibility of Chemistry at the European level by
speaking with a single voice,
• Creating a European “corporate identity” among Chemical Societies”,
• Presenting chemistry as an essential and indispensable provider of
solutions for global challenges to European and international
institutions and other relevant stakeholders.

benefits to its members and works to strengthen
Chemistry & Chemical Technology and their
professionals in Spain.
