Artistic Director Toni Pimble takes you and the Company on a stylish
and rollicking ride back to the glamorous 1920s with her ballet vision of
F. Scott Fitzgerald’s great American novel. The parties will be lavish, the
costumes gorgeous and the music of one of America’s most seductive eras
will be given new life by Brian McWhorter and OrchestraNext, including
compositions by Wynton Marsalis. A new work choreographed by EBC
dancer Suzanne Haag, exploring current trends in human interaction with
a blend of contemporary and classical movement, is also on the program.

Eugene Ballet Company’s 36th performing season awakens to one
of the great ballets of all time. The Sleeping Beauty is a ballet for
kids, parents, grandkids and grandparents, and everyone who loves
fairy tales, Tchaikovsky, tutus and tiaras. This timeless story delights
with classical variations and magical characters set in a mythical land,
starring Fairies, the White Cat and Puss in Boots, the Bluebirds, the
wicked fairy Carabosse and, of course, Sleeping Beauty and her Prince.

The most requested EBC production by far returns to the Silva Concert
Hall stage! The passion for this work is a direct result of its combined
energy—from OrchestraNext in the pit to the Eugene Concert
Choir and acclaimed vocal soloists Joelle Harvey, Paul Karaitis,
and Anton Belov, all on stage with your EBC dancers. We’re adding
what critics call an “awe-inspiring” collaborative dance and interactive
media work, White Noise, by renowned contemporary choreographer
Amy Seiwert to complete this expansive program.
