A Letter from Our President
Dana Nichols
EWI of Tulsa
The Tulsa Chapter of EWI has quite a
head of steam going. Membership is up
and still growing, and our chapter
meetings and programs are experiencing
new Tulsa area venues with very
interesting speakers. Our Reading
Rally/Corporate Literacy committee is
doing great with an ambitious project tied
with LCAM 2015. Students are preparing
their scholarship applications and you can
Like Us on Facebook.
The Fundraising committee is focused, preparing to meet the
needs of the chapter this year and has its sights set on 20152016. The ladies of SAA, Hospitality and Orientation are
welcoming the new faces and guiding them toward committees
and their new-found friends, which leads to fresh ideas and even
more momentum.
And in the engine room is the core membership of the Tulsa
chapter. Past Presidents, Advisors, Trustees and
Representatives continue to guide the chapter along a strong
and steady path to success. I look forward to seeing and
honoring all of you at the March 12, 2015, meeting when we
celebrate 59 years as a chapter of Executive Women
International.

February Meeting: Firm Night
Manhattan Construction
Here’s What Our Members Had to Say…
“Food was excellent and Bob Jack was very entertaining. It was very interesting to hear about
the history of Manhattan and the projects they have completed over the years.”
“This was a great venue. The space was large enough to accommodate everyone without
feeling crowded, and the acoustics were very good. Meal was very good as well.”
“Not quite what I had expected from this restaurant. Food quality not as good
as individual dining, disappointed in the frozen vegetable medley.
The waiter snapped at us when we asked for coffee at the table.”
“The venue, food and speaker were all excellent! Unfortunately, I had to leave before the
speaker completed his presentation, however, his topic, involvement with audience and
delivery of message appeared to be well received by all who attended the meeting.”
Thank you Note from Linda Wingo
My dear friends of EWI, thank you for your prayers and support. We have been overwhelmed
by the outpouring of concern. We appreciate the plant and hope you know how much it means
to our family.

Meet Candace Fields
What does your company do and what is your function
within the company?
Party Pro Rents is the premier tent, full-service event rental
and production company dedicated to providing a superior
rental experience. I am the Marketing Manager. I am
responsible for creating and maintaining a continuous
professional representation of our company; including, but not
limited to social media, marketing campaigns, or
business/client relationships.
How did you get into this business?
All my life I have been the “go to” person for events. While
attending Texas Woman’s University, I had the privilege of
planning events on a much larger scale for numerous
university departments and organizations. It was during the
planning of my own wedding that I found Party Pro Rents.
After visiting the showroom, I decided to enter the planning
industry full-time and took my creative talents to Party Pro
Rents as an employee.
Tell us something interesting about yourself that a lot of
people don’t know, a little known fact or
accomplishment, past or present.
Although my vocal talent is less than ideal, I love doing
karaoke. This is my official challenge to anyone willing to do a
sing-off.

Member Firm Spotlight
U.S. Beef Corporation
United States Beef Corporation is a family owned and operated business that opened its
first Arby’s franchise restaurant in 1969 at 42nd & Peoria in Tulsa. It is now Arby’s largest
franchisee and one of the top ten franchise organizations in the world, operating more
than 320 restaurants. Today, U.S. Beef serves Arby’s famous slow-roasted beef
sandwiches and unique menu items to hungry guests in eight contiguous Midwest and
Western states, including Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Illinois, Colorado,
Wyoming, and Idaho. U.S. Beef also owns and operates six Taco Bueno franchise
restaurants in Northwest Arkansas. Between now and 2020, U.S. Beef is embarking on
an aggressive market development plan, including the construction of 65 new Arby’s
restaurants – of which 35 are going up in the Denver market alone. Our strategy has
been clear from the beginning -- to create economy in the communities we serve and
opportunity for our employees to grow, while delighting our guests with a “Happy to Help”
attitude and delicious deli-inspired sandwiches. U.S. Beef has been a member of EWI
since 1997.
Our Mission
EWI brings together key individuals from diverse businesses for the purpose of:
• Promoting member firms,
• Enhancing personal and professional development, and
• Encouraging community involvement.
Our Vision

Mid-America Land, Grain & Cattle Co. Inc.
is a working ranch that started in 1978. It is
located between Miami, Oklahoma, and
Chetopa, Kansas, with headquarters in
Tulsa.
The ranch has grown to more than 7,000
acres which includes 3,700 acres of
improved property and the largest pecan
operation in the state. The ranch has more
than 1,000 registered cattle. On the
property, there is a graveyard with
headstones older than the Civil War and
legend says there was a major Indian battle
near the barn on Squaw Creek.
An interesting fact, one of the original
surveyor’s stones still marks the state line,
which runs through the property.
