Me – 14 banks nationalized in 1969 and 6 banks in 1980.

Me – for financial inclusion of all people and because poor man used to borrow money from private
lender so he had to pay higher interest rate to them therefore by nationalizing bank they could get
loan at lower interest rate.
P1 – now after 40 years, don’t u think we achieve this aim, and if not, why?
Me- still we need financial inclusion of all people as bank doesn’t reaches to the remote places
(tried to explain in broken language)
P1 – u mean to say branches are not open in all places
Me- yes sir.
P4 – what is KYC?
Me – know your customer is for getting information about customer and it also help to make
customer account secure.

Me – yes sir, in SBI.

Me – sir banks take deposit from people who have excess money by paying them interest rate and
give the loan who needs money by charging higher interest rate.

Me – (I take pause for 7-8 sec) sir it involves illegal money which is kept by people for avoiding tax,
as money kept in swiss bank.

I: sir, I am Sandeep Burnwal, Son of Ram Prasad Burnwal. I am from Barkar(Asansol). I completed
BCA from MCRPV in year 2010.I completed my Intermediate of Science From JAC. I did my
schooling from SGDMS. My hobby is Reading Newspaper.

M4: U have Studied 10th from Chirkunda(Dhanbad), 12th from Wasseypur(Dhanbad), BCA from
Dhanbad and MCA from Patna and u are a permanent resident of West Bengal. What is this moving
here and there??? Why u have done this to achieve more marks from Jharkhand & Bihar???
I: No, Sir Achieving more marks was not my intention.My financial condition is not good and
moreover I hvnt got proper guidance wherever I found the fee is less & Istitution approval is ok, I
hv taken admission.
M3: So, Why u have chosen for final Degree MCA from distance education?
I: My financial condition is not good that’s why I have chosen MCA From Distance.
M2: Why Distance Education from Patna and not from West Bengal???
In West Bengal I found MCA fee 20,000 yearly ie 20,000*3= 60,000 and in Patna it is 7000*3=
21,000.I thought for Distance education Why to spent more money just see the approval of the
University.
M2. U did nt go to attend classes then what r u doing Currently???

2nd:them after getting selected in bank u may say u are not deserving.
me :sir... I honestly said that I dont desrve the mark what i got in 10th...but honestly speaking i
had worked hard for last 1yr to clear this exam and i am successful in doing that thats why i am in
front of u.
3rd:ok physics is an elective subject say difference between power and velocity.
me:said the formula of power but he reply say me the difference.

I reached the venue at 12 PM with one of my friend. she was also having her interview.
We waited outside for half an hour. Then we were called inside the gate. We have to sign against
our name and then the guards there told us to go to the waiting room.I waited there for 10 min
and they called out my name and asked me to go for documents verification in other building.
I got documents verified till 1.15 PM. then I came outside and officials told me to wait till 2.30 PM
as there was the lunch break. So, I sit at the sofas there n start chatting with some people. Some
of them had already given their interview n were telling their experiences. Most were telling that
the panels are very friendly and they are just checking out your confidence and communication
skills.
At 2.30 PM we were asked to go for our interview which was upstairs. There, we were asked to wait
in a room where the officials were calling out our names when our turn was about to come.
I was called at 3.20 PM. I went, all the people sitting with me wished me luck.I was standing
outside the interview room. A girl was already inside, next turn was mine.A sir was sitting outside
the room who started chatting with me asked about my famiy and home town. The girl came
outside and next was my turn to go in. I went inside after the bell ring for the next candidate.
I knocked the door and asked them "may i come in"
They said "yes, with a smile"
I wished them good afternoon sirs, they all replied back.

then he asked the obvious question that being an engineer why do you want to join bank??
I replied- sir, due to my low scores in b.tech I couldn't got a satisfactory job in my field.then I
thought to go in public sector and banks are the sunrise sector of indian economy, I decided to join
banks.
m1 : why u got low scores ?
I replied:sir , due to my negligence at that time, I couldn't realize the importance of studies.but
later I worked hard n as a result I cracked this exam.
m1; so , u had never given any interview before this
I replied:no sir, I had given bank of baroda MSB interview,
m1: so , u were not selected there ??
I replied:I told them that I have been selected there but I have not got the call letter yet as I am in
their 11 batch .
m1: so you have achieved much being this year's passout (and smiled)
m1 (again):so ,can you work anywhere in india?
I replied:yes sir, I can go anywhere, workplace is not a problem for me
m1: your parents have no problem in sending u anywhere...and they are not having in sending you
manipal also being so far from here.??
I replied : no sir, they give more importance on career than these things.
m1: acha tell me, who take your decisions ? you or your father?
I replied :sir, I take my decisions myself ,after that my father gives his concern.
(then ,m1 asked m2 to ask his question)
m2: have you heard about CSR?
I replied:yes sir, it is corporate social responsibility,in this companies have to spend 2 % of their
profit for social improvement and social uplifitng.
m2: ok.do you know who is the governor of RBI ?
I replied: mr .Raghuram Rajan.
m2: and who was earlier than him ?
I replied :mr .D Subbarao.

SUGGESTION: don't get nervous and be confident.if you dont know about something,just admit it
with confidence.and prepare well about yourself and your family.JUST BE YOURSELF.
ANALYSIS:the panel was very humble and friendly.they were just checking out your self confidence
and communication skills.

Then around 9 am Document verification started.
Then we were told to arrange the documents in the prescribed order mentioned there (image of
the same I have posted here also )
I got call for DV at 11.45 am as my number on the list was 17 among 25 candidates in Panel-I
Mark my words they are very strict about the passing date (1/7/2013) and also about the caste
certificates.
It took around 20 mins for the DV.
Then I got the call for interview at 1 pm
I entered the Room.

In my Panel-I out of 25, 3 were absent n out of 22 there were around 15 BTech holders including
me.. n I think I was the second last one to give the interview so this thing really made them furious
n angry about Engg.
M3- Beta, Kya kiya hai apne Graduation me?
Me- Sir I have done Engineering in Electrical.
M3- Beta jisme pucha usme jawab do na.
Me- Sorry sir, Mene Engineering ki hai Electrical field me.
(if they ask in English answer in English.. if they ask in Hindi then answer in Hindi )
M3- Toh beta ye apne Electrical me ki hai Engg iska to koi role nhi hai bank me...na hi ye kam aane
wali..then why should we take you?
Me- Sir other than technical skills I have also enhanced my Logical and Analytical skills along with
the team leadership n management skills as I was the overall coordinator of many National level
culture n technical events and have also organised n participated in many seminars n
presentations.
M3- Ye sab toh thik hai..Co-curricular activities are good sab me hoti hai but Why Banking only?
Me- Sir banking is the fastest growing sector and bank job provide prestige in society and growth
rate is high and.. (in btw answering, I use to wear "KADA" in my right hand so suddenly it came out
from sleeves as i have pulled it back b4 going to the room,)
At that time M2 interrupted - Arey beta Ye kya hai? Ese hi shok k liye pehante ho ya kuch purpose
hai iske piche?
Me-Sir, wo Amritsar gye the tab hi se pehna hua hai.
M2- Oh good good!
M3- Electrical se ho to RSEB me apply kyu nhi krte?
Me-Sir 2 years me nikalti hai jobs unki or transparency nhi hai recruitment me.

important to be confident n hide ur nervousness which is normal to happen....Believe that d panel
is there to select u and not to reject...

2nd Member : So u have experience of 5 years in IT den y did u want to get in Bank?
Me : Sir, I have an exp. of 5 years but not in IT only....I have worked in IT field for just 1 and a half
year and den moved to non technical profile of Marketing and Business Development....After d
recession struck on 2009 I moved to Dubai in a non technical profile and carried it till now...

Me: it is definitely one of d fastest growing sectors and it has job security and a high prestige job...

rural areas who are illiterate and how will dey be able to use cards n all....
Me: Awareness and training is required.....I told dem abt financial inclusion which aims dat every
citizen of India shud be able to use banking...today we have a big part of ur population who have
never seen a bank and never heard abt cards n all...so to make financial inclusion a succes it is
important to create awareness amongst such ppl in rural areas....hold campaigns and teach dem
abt banking....its important to gain deir trust and faith in banking and for dat banking has to go out
explore such places and traing ppl to use banking...after all dat is d goal of financial inclusion...I
concluded by saying dat it requires a lot of patience and genuine efforts to make dis possible...
3rd Member (I think he was definitely impressed but still tried to play games wid me): He said its
very easy to say all dese...have u ever seen a village??? I am not talkin abt places like panvel n
beyond...(I reside in Panvel)..but places with are very much rural...where der is no water no
electricity...

which they specialize in...den u dnt need to go to dose 2 different countries,,instead u can go to
dubai and find both the products in one place...so basically its a business hub where business
people dump their products and buyers buy it..so tourism...business..and hotel industry is deir
main economy...(i think she was quite impressed as i explained with an example..)

P4 didn’t ask any question, he was watching and smiling in between the interview. I think he was
there to observe the candidates.

When I came out of the interview room I came to know that CM and one member among the panel
were retired managers of PNB.
Suggestion : Don’t get nervous, be confident and say without hesitation when u don’t know
something. Make eye contact with everyone while answering. Before going for interview look all
banking terms and don’t forget any document. Give your best shot.
Analysis : The board was very cordial and humble. I gave my best and I m pretty much satisfied

- I Gave the definition.
he gave me more information on BEP.
Again he asked, you have completed your Degree in 2011 & now its 2014.. what you did between
this period..I gave answer that, i am currently working in Private Company.. they asked about my
working profile & about company in which i am doing job.. (friends they will ask you questions on
your current job or working experience in detail..eg. in my case i told i am working in company
which is engaged in import & export, so they asked me about L/C & Its type..).. i could not gave
answer for its type..but then M3 gave hint about Inland & outland.
M2: who control the working of banks & how... gave answered about RBI & Its moneytory
instrument..what are banks now days doing apart from its basic function..(his main focus on
Bancassurance).
I gave answer that providing wholesale, retail, personal banking facilities, advisory functions etc..
but he was not Looking satisfied.( he was trying to give me clue on Bank & insurance)
M3: Asked me about 2 Rates.. i dont remember now & could not give answer too..
Then he asked about current ratio.. i gave answer Current Asset upon Current Liability.. he was
looking satisfied now..
M2: What is current Bank Rate: i gave answered..8.75%, who decide the same.. & what is bank
rate.. gave proper answered as i was well prepared for banking terms..
M1: What are basic A/c Principals.. this was most easiest question but could not give answered
first..but he then give clue, personal A/c..then i answered.. personal, real & nominal.. that was he
wants to know.. M2 replied..
M1: Liability & assets side of Banks.. I gave answer...he then ashed about tangible & intangible
assets.. give answer with hesitation.. current Salary Package.. I said 10, he replied you are getting
nice package.. i said sir Its for Per month.. ( he was thinking that 10L per year...)
M4 had not asked a single question he just giving smile..i think he was just looking at body
language & confidence level.

I am not satisfied with my interview, as i would give best than this..but I was prepared for Hard
level questions & ignored simple one..
My suggestions for Friends : Friends.. Panelist were very cooperative.. they will give you clue, if
you are trying to give answers..
Friends, prepare well for questions regarding your current working profile, as every colleague of
my panel faced the same question in detail...No question on G.K.. but keep ready at least two
political, Financial News & Headline ready..& don't ignore simple questions..as i did..

The Certificate verification was completed by 12 morning and my turn for the interview came at
afternoon.
There are 4 members in the panel .
I wished them after entering . and they asked me to sit . They are friendly. Their first question was
"which stream u belongs to ?" .. I politely answered them that I belong to mechanical
background ..
So they asked what u know about banking .. and I replied with how banks works and what they
do ..
Then they asked about how rupees value getting depreciated, i answered , there are various
factors such as increasing current account deficit imports and exports .. and there influence
growing dollar sentiment in the international market poor brand image for Indian exports delay in
decision making of govt . etc
Their next question was .. What are the measures to control depreciation . I replied increasing fdi
(foriegn direct investment) limits setting up national investment board increase tax on imports
Then next few questions about Repo rate and Reverse Repo rate ..
and I answered ..
Then they asked about my parents and what they do and what is irrigation project in my district . I
belong to Karimnagar.
What types of crops in ur region they grow commonly ,
i replied cotton maize and rice .
Their next question was about current affairs. What u know abt augusta westland scandal ... I
replied it was helicopter deal with augusta westland company . They bribed few indian ministers to
get contract.
and they asked a few other simple questions ..

again silence for 5-6 seconds.
M1: So, why do you want to join Banking?
I: sir, i like banking.. moreover I want to join a government job. It is very secure.
M2. Why do you like banking?
I: Sir, it is very repectable... there is lot of interation with people.
M3: (smiling), but beta, there are many other jobs which are respectable. but our question is why
banking?
I: (thinking and thinking)
L1: Leave it, tell me - wht are your hobbies?
I: sir reading...

I: Arvind Kejriwal will have to pass floor test today. Recently, AAP has formed the government in
Delhi and now they have to prove majority in vidhan sabha.

4) Call letter for the interview and your application form.
5) If you have Masters degree,even if you didn't mention about it in the form,you should take the
semesters DMC along,they'll mention it :)
6) PAN Card copy ( Identity proof)(Mine)
All the above document should be self attested and in original + photocopied form :)
My turn came at 7..So,here it goes.(Patience is essential,don't be restless and yes,kindly don't keep
on studying till the end,your mind will drain)
1) Greeting : When I entered the room I said Good evening sir,looking at everybody in
panel with a smile! (It costs nothing guys,yaa? :) ) So,keep a smile on your face..:)

etiquette..
3) Gratitude : Whenever you are asked to sit say Thank you, kuch log bhool jaate hain tension mein,
4) Language : Now,let me tell you this guys,I didn't stick to English,i opted for the language in which I
could explain them better,so precisely I used Hinglish thereof.
5) Now the set of questions : So,friends I am trying to give you the set of questions I am able to recall

Special mention for the B. Tech people : Since you guys are the majority lot this time,prepare this
question well: Why Banking after B.Tech, and as per your area of specialisation how can you relate it
with banking,don't mug up things just take ideas from fellow mates,be creative and natural though,yaa?

Even if you don't know and answer don't feel shy in saying, Sory sir I have no idea about it,woh
tumhe khaa nahin jaayenge :D Paper mein bhi sab questions nahin aate hain hamein, right?

process.Then I was not mature enough to make my own decision.Also there is a general trend in Kerala
which makes students choose between either engg or medicine.I was good at maths so I chose engg sir.
M1: If u weren't interested in the sub u could have dropped out and joined another course rite?
Me: Sir that was a big step and in fact my parents wanted me to do a professional course.There wasn't
any other choices other than B.Tech left in front of me.
M1: Usually when a person doesn't like his sub then he wont study anything.How did u get such good
marks?
Me: Sir I felt that the sub was difficult in the beginning so I took it as a challenge and worked hard.
M1: very good
M2: What are ur strengths ?
Me: As I have said I am a hard working person sir.I am also very optimistic and always keep a smile on
my face.I am friendly,outgoing and have good interpersonal skills sir.I am quite adaptable and I can
easily deal with any difficult situations.
M2:You left infosys because of health probs,what happened?
Me: I caught chicken pox and I had to take leave for about 2-3 weeks.Then the HR informed me that I
missed a couple of tests so I could join along with the next batch that means I have to repeat the entire
training.I asked about other options and I decided to quit because I had an SBI Interview coming up
then.I was already interested in banking and decided that it was the right time to take a proper decision.
M2: And what happened to that interview?
Me: I got full marks for interview sir but unfortunately got eliminated because of low marks in the
marketing section.
M2: How did you know about the mark distribution?
Me: They have given detailed mark lists sir. I could show you now.
M2: no need. ok so unlike others who didn't have other options you are genuinely interested in banking
field.That's good
Me: Thank you sir
M3: How important is a customer in a bank?
Me: Customer is considered as the king in banking.Customer satisfaction is the most important criteria
which defines the sucess of a bank.As a PO we will be dealing with the complaints of the customers
often.So it should be taken in a positive manner and always interact with the customers putting on a
pleasant face.
M3: Where did you go for coaching?
Me: I havent been to any institutes sir. Prepared by myself.
M3: So have you cleared any exams other than SBI and ibps?
Me: Yes sir.SSC CGL tier 1 and ibps clerical sir.
M3: smiled and said very good
M4: what is SHG?
Me : SHG is a village based intermediary composed of women from the same family or
neighborhood.The pool money and lend each other at low rates of interest.They are entitled to get loans
from nabard and rrbs.
M4: u have a bank account? which bank?
Me: ICICI and SBI maam.
M4: which bank is more efficient?
Me: I no longer use icici bank acc mam as it was my salary acc in infosys.Icici is a private bank so the
readiness to open an acc ,transactions are easier and faster when compared to SBI.But as the largest
bank in India the trustworthiness provided by SBI cannot be compared to any other banks.
M4: ok good
M1: Miss Deepthi u may leave now. And all the best.
And they offered chocolates. I took one and thanked all of them and left the room.
My Suggestions : Try to be calm and never use difficult terms which may get you in trouble.All they
check is ur communication skills and ur way of presenting your opinion.

Hello Friends, my name is Bhanupriya Vishwakarma and I have completed MBA in finance and also
I have Banking Experience of about 2.5 years. I had my interview yesterday at Mumbai ( Bank of
Maharashtra, Bandra East). I was assigned panel IV for interview in the afternoon shift. I reached
the venue and was made to wait till 3:30 pm. Then I was called for document verification which went
on smoothly. I was required to produce my experience letters, all semester marksheets, degree
certificates, Photo ID and Application Print out. They called me for interview by 4:30 pm and was last
in my slot.
I opened the door without making any noise and glanced inside seeking permission to come in. They
called me in. There we four panelist which included 3 gentlemen and a lady. I greeted the lady first and
gentlemen later with a smile. They all greeted back. They asked me to sit, I sat and thanked them for
offering a seat.
Then the interview began.
M3- So Bhanu, what does your name mean ( He asked me in hindi, bhanu ka kya matlab hota hai?)
Me- I replied in Hindi that my name means Sun but Bhanupriya Means Laxmi.
I saw him noting down something in his notebook.
M2- You have done your graduation in Chemistry and done post graduation in Finance, why so?
Me- I replied I received no guidance as a child but as time went by I started to realize that I am more
inclined towards managerial science. And hence I took the decision to pursue management as masters.
M2- You have more than two years of work ex in private banks. Why do you want to switch to public
sector banks.
Me- I am looking forward for working with public sector banks as they can provide me with a fair and
decent chance to grow. They emphasize on knowledge building through exams like JAIIB, CAIIB.
Promotion process are transparent where as same is almost absent in private banks. Also work
environment is better as compared to private counterparts be it timing or leave policy.
M2 then tossed a technical question. He asked me about CASA.
Me- CASA is the bread and butter of banking industry. It is the day end balance of all savings and
current accounts in the bank. The stronger the casa is, the more is the lending capacity of the bank.
M2- But dont you think that cost of funds is more. The operational cost in serving these accounts is
much more than the interest they earn. ( It was followed by a very long elaboration)
Me- I understand sir. But still I believe that the interest income of banks is more than operational
expenses. Economies of Scale comes into effect. A branch which serves 100 accounts with 3 people can
be used for servicing 300 accounts. So if we can increase the CASA base, banks will grow stronger.
Operational costs will come down if we serve a larger base. Hence cost of funds will come down. ( I
think he was not convinced but I showed no sign of losing my confidence)
M3- What is KYC? ( Asked in hindi)
Me- Documents which we collect from customer regarding his identity. ( I thought by replying know
your customer, he will say that he already knows the full form so I went ahead with details, then he
asked the full form. I replied Know Your Customer")
M3- What all documents can be used for KYC
Me- Replied.
M3- You know about AML?
Me- Anti Money Laundering.
M3- What is it?
Me- It is an act used to prevent and track suspicious transactions.
M3- What are suspicious transactions.
Me- Transactions of Rs 10 lac or more of which the source of funds are unknown.
M3- Unknown?
Me- Illegitimate ( he was trying to hint me..then I gave the answer terrorist activities) Then he looked
convinced.
M3- If we post you into any interior location, will you be able to go?
Me- Definitely Sir. And thats why I have come here.
M3- How will your husband be able to live here ? ( He smiled and asked)
Me- He can get a maid to cook food. ( I smiled and then everyone laughed).
M2 to lady panelist- Aap kuchh poochna chahte ho ? ( You want to ask something?) She was going
through my documents and asked what my designation " Product Support Executive" Meant.
Me- Replied.
M4- Do private banks give no weight age to JAIIB CAIIB?
Me- No Ma'm. Not at all. Sales is of prime importance there.
Then they thanked me and I smiled and thanked them instead. and left the room and closed the door.

Suggestion : be confident and be ready for some unexpected questions as in my case they didn't asked

by giving 666liters for house hold having pipe connection.
M3: Do you think is it correct?
Me: yes sir, but he had promised only to those who have connection, but didn’t take into consideration
about other people.
M3: But, how can he give water without pipe connection?
Me: Yes sir but he should improve network in those areas such that all people will be able to receive
water, also his condition that whoever uses more water should pay amount for the total water used is
also good because that inculcates saving habit.
M3: Ok, What other promises did he fulfill?
Me: To decrease power tariff by 50% and implemented it.
M3: Do you think it is correct?
Me: Yes sir, it is correct.

M3: How this scheme is correct then? For example per unit cost of 6/- is fixed na?

Me: Sir, per unit cost is fixed depending upon cost of production, distribution and wages all taking into
consideration, the distribution companies have shown irregularities in those, showed high costs thereby
increased per unit cost. So he approached CAG, and they accepted to audit them, so after audit per unit
cost will be decreased and burden will not be on tax payers.
M2: Ok. In rural areas we are giving loans to agriculture and they are not repaying and we are incurring
losses. Should we stop lending them?
Me: No sir, we shouldn’t stop lending, because agriculture is priority sector and it is back bone of our
country, so we shouldn’t stop lending them, they are unable to repay because of droughts and floods.
M3: Don’t you think there are willful defaulters?
Me: Yes sir, some may be.
M3: Then we should stop lending to agriculture?
Me: No, sir, because of some willful defaulters we shouldn’t stop lending to whole agriculture as it is
priority sector, but willful defaulters should be stringently punished.
M2: Ok, what is priority sector?
Me: It means which fulfill basic human needs and essential one’s and agriculture, education, micro
enterprises come under priority sector.
M2: Who is an NRI?
Me: NRI means Non Resident Indian. He may be a indian person living in a foreign country or indian
origin person born in foreign country…Sorry sir I was not sure.
M1,M2: Ok…
M2: Recently rupee value has depreciated why?
Me: Due to Current Account Deficit.
M2: What Is Current Account Deficit?
Me: The difference in exports and imports for example we import gold and crude oil, we have to pay
them in dollars and our foreign exchange reserves are decreasing and we have to buy dollar from
outside, so there will be demand for them thereby increasing their value and subsequently decreasing
rupee as it will become costlier to buy dollar.
M2: Ok..Do you know about food security bill?
Me: Yes sir, it gives food security to 67% of the indian people of them 75% are rural and 50% are
urban. In this year some 120000 crores are kept aside for their incremental cost.
Now they are asking M4 to ask.
M4: What’s your specialization?
Me: EEE sir,
M4: You are B.tech. Then why did you choose banking?
Me: Sir, it all started when I was in B.Tech 3rd year, I developed interest towards banking and finance,
so I thought MBA in finance will help me and prepared for MBA entrance exams for an year, but due
to changed financial circumstances I have to take up job, anyway after joining job I will join an MBA
degree through distance education so that I can fulfill my interest.
M3: Your name is Brajesh. Are you from AP only? What is meaning of your name?
Me: Im from AP only sir, it is one of the many names of Lord Krishna.
M3: Ok, You are from Warangal. What are famous places in Warangal?
Me: Sir Kakatiya’s has ruled warangal and left some master pieces like Ramappa Temple, Thousand
Pillars temple, Fort Warangal…
M3: Recently some festival happened in warangal?
Me: Sir its Kakatiya Mahotsavas closing ceremony.
M3: Did you attend it?
Me: No sir, at that time I was in Hyd and din’t attend.
M3: Hyd is near only, you should have attended it.
Me: I was unable to attend it, but I had attended the inaugural ceremony of festival.

I reached the center at 8 am.
Then the Document verification started around 9 am.
Then we were told to arrange the documents in the prescribed order mentioned there (image of the
same I have posted here also ;) )
I got call for DV at 11.45 am as my number on the list was 17 among 25 candidates in Panel-I
Mark my words they are very strict about the passing date (1/7/2013) and also about the caste
certificates.
It took around 20 mins for the DV.
Then I got the call for interview at 1 pm
I entered the Room.
There were 4 members all Males M1 M2 M3 M4
Wished them "Good Afternoon all of You"
M2- So Mr Ravi Nimawat
Me- Yes Sir.
M2-Have your seat.
Me-Thank You sir.
M2 was having one blank paper.
M3 was having xerox of my documents.
In my Panel-I out of 25, 3 were absent n out of 22 there were around 15 BTech holders including me.. n
I think I was the second last one to give the interview so this thing really made them furious n angry
about Engg.
M3- Beta, Kya kiya hai apne Graduation me?
Me- Sir I have done Engineering in Electrical.
M3- Beta jisme pucha usme jawab do na.

Me- Sir other than technical skills I have also enhanced my Logical and Analytic skills along with the
team leadership n management skills as I was the overall coordinator of many National level culture n
technical events and have also organised n participated in many seminars n presentations.
M3- Ye sab toh thik hai..Co-curricular activities are good sab me hoti hai but Why Banking only?
Me- Sir banking is the fastest growing sector and bank job provide prestige in society and growth rate
is high and.. (in btw answering, I use to wear "KADA" in my right hand so suddenly it came out from
sleeves as i have pulled it back b4 going to the room,)

I reached the venue at 12 PM with one of my friends. She was also having her interview.
We waited outside for half an hour. Then we were called inside the gate. We have to sign against our
name and then the guards there told us to go to the waiting room.I waited there for 10 min and they
called out my name and asked me to go for documents verification in other building.
I got documents verified till 1.15 PM. then I came outside and officials told me to wait till 2.30 PM as
there was the lunch break.So, I sit at the sofas there n start chatting with some people.Some of them
had already given their interview n were telling their experiences.Most were telling that the panels are
very friendly and they are just checking out your confidence and communication skills.
At 2.30 PM we were asked to go for our interview which was upstairs. There, we were asked to wait in
a room where the officials were calling out our names when our turn was about to come.
I was called at 3.20 PM. I went, all the people sitting with me wished me luck.I was standing outside
the interview room. A girl was already inside, next turn was mine.A sir was sitting outside the room
who started chatting with me asked about my famiy and home town. The girl came outside and next
was my turn to go in. I went inside after the bell ring for the next candidate.
I knocked the door and asked them "may i come in"
They said "yes, with a smile"
I wished them good afternoon sirs,they all replied back.
(there were 4 members in the panel and all were males)
m1: so, madam anjali,haan ??
I said "yes sir"
m1: what is the meaning of your name?
I replied:"divine offerings"
m1: nice name n well dressed up

I replied- sir, due to my low scores in b.tech I couldn't got a satisfactory job in my field.then I thought
to go in public sector and banks are the sunrise sector of indian economy, I decided to join banks.
m1 : why u got low scores ?
I replied:sir , due to my negligence at that time, I couldn't realize the importance of studies.but later I
worked hard n as a result I cracked this exam.
m1; so , u had never given any interview before this
I replied:no sir, I had given bank of baroda MSB interview,
m1: so , u were not selected there ??
I replied:I told them that I have been selected there but I have not got the call letter yet as I am in their
11 batch .
m1: so you have achieved much being this year's passout (and smiled)
m1 (again):so ,can you work anywhere in india?
I replied:yes sir, I can go anywhere, workplace is not a problem for me

m1: your parents have no problem in sending u anywhere...and they are not having in sending you
manipal also being so far from here.??
I replied : no sir, they give more importance on career than these things.
m1: acha tell me, who take your decisions ? you or your father?
I replied :sir, I take my decisions myself ,after that my father gives his concern.
(then ,m1 asked m2 to ask his question)
m2: have you heard about CSR?
I replied:yes sir, it is corporate social responsibility,in this companies have to spend 2 % of their profit
for social improvement and social uplifitng.
m2: ok.do you know who is the governor of RBI ?
I replied: mr .Raghuram Rajan.
m2: and who was earlier than him ?
I replied :mr .D Subbarao.
(then he asked m3 and m4 to ask their question but they didn't asked)

SUGGESTION : Don't get nervous and be confident.if you dont know about something,just admit it
with confidence.and prepare well about yourself and your family.JUST BE YOURSELF.
ANALYSIS : The panel was very humble and friendly. They were just checking out your self
confidence and communication skills.

First of all, bring all the semester wise certificates.
Document verification took 10-15 minutes. For most of the candidates interview took minimum 10-15
minutes only. The panel members are very friendly.
Wished Good Evening to the panel.
All the panel members asked questions randomly.
First they asked to introduce yourself and about your family.
I think I gave a good introduction of myself ( I could say this from their their facial expressions)
After the Introduction, they asked about for what my locality is famous for in the history, I explained to
them, and they were convinced.
Then asked about my strength and weakness..Answered.
(One of them told me that my qualifications will definitely help me as a PO)
Then one panel member asked had you known about banking before your B.Tech,
I said no, but after my B.Tech, I tried to know more about banking, like depositing and withdrawal of
Cash, Starting of account etc.
The next question was, is that the only functions of Bank?
Answered, No sir, Banks are having primary and secondary functions, primary are accepting deposits
and granting loans, and secondary are foreign exchange management, locker facility, mutual funds,
Insurance etc.. They all said, good, very good answer..
Then one member asked how did you know all these?
Me : Sir, I referred internet to more about what is knew in the banking sector, like all the new
technologies etc, since I am more interested start my carrier as a bank employee..
Really you are great, one of them said, and told me, will it be till getting posted as an officer? or will
you continue this after getting job?
I said no Sir, I will continue to know more about banking after that also..
They said, yes, good..
Then question about if you are posted in rural area, will you join?
I said, Definitely sir, Since I am also from rural area, I will definitely work there with pleasure..
(I think one of them know about my locality)
He enquired about my location and said, yes it is similar to a rural area.
Then he asked if you got posted in M.P, how will you manage, since you don't know their language?
I said, Language is not a problem, to give them the best customer care service is important. He said yes,
you are correct, attitude is most important, dont you? I said Yes Sir.
One of them asked , Don't you know Hindi?
I said, Little bit Sir, I studied Hindi till tenth Standard. They said Its enough, Its enough..
There was no more questions.
At last they said, we all join with Sirs opinion, You are great.
I thanked them..

And went out..
Over all took 10 minutes.
Since my marks are low, I was not all feared about the interview. I attended it with full confidence. And
overall it went very very well. I enjoyed it well..
My Suggestions : Friends, don't be tensed, they will give you full support. Be cool and attend the
interview, give answers confidently.Try to make well eye contact and fluency in giving answers.. All
the best..
IBPS Probationary Officers III Interview Experience - Diwakar Kothari

After the document verification process completion, at about 10am I entered the Interview room. There
were 4 person in the panel. 2 Aged, 1 mid age and one woman. She didn't asked me anything but she
and mid age person were writing something continuously. Both of the old men only in the panel did the
questioning part.
Me: Good Morning All of you sirs and Ma'm.
O1: So Mr. Diwakar Kothari, Let us all know about you, your family background and educational
achievements.
Me: After introducing myself completely I elaborated Educational qualifications and Family
background step by step as they requested.
O2: Your father & brother are in bank. Any special thing about those banks ?
Me: PNB is the first Indian bank established in 1895 and is the one of the largest banks in India. And
Bank OF baroda is the india's international bank having the maximum numbers of overseas branches
by any nationalized bank. And both of the banks are in the top5 on the basis of their total assets.
O1: Good, You know the benefits of having banks in economy?
Me: yes sir. Because of the banks in india people now have a habit of saving, with the help of that
money banks lend money to those people and firms who need it at thier Interest rate. Living standard of
people rises. and Because of this banks maintain a large amount of money to invest it at RBI Resulting
the economy to get strengthen .
M1: What is the benefits of Rural branches of any banks ?
Me: As us having urban needs, rural branches fulfill the needs of farmer or the people involved in
micro and small business field. they take deposits there and then use that money to lend loans to the
farmers for their various kinds of agricultural needs.
O2: Tell us about the RBI in brief.
Me: RBI was establised in 1935 under Reserve bank of india act 1934. After Independence in 1949 it
became the nationalized bank and gained the power to control regulate all the banks and to maintain the
money flow in the market by revising the monetary policy time by time.
O1: what happens in Monetary policy?
Me: Sir, RBI has to maintain the money flow in the market. Whenever the amount of money increases
in the market, RBI Sell govt securities to the banks. Due to that excess money moves to the RBI when
banks buy them. Same when its amount decreases then RBI purchase it from banks.
O2: RBI Purchases those securities, the rate at which it happens, what do we call it?
Me: Repo Rate sir.
O1: You know what is the repo rate now ?
Me: Yes sir, its 7.75 % now.
Woman and the mid aged man gave a look to each other and both of the old men joined them and with
a smile the most aged person told me
"ab aap ja sakte hain diwakar ji"
Me: "Thank you very much sir and ma'm. It's been really nice talking to you"
My Suggestions : So I used only those terms in the interview which I already knew. Never use any
word whose meaning you can't clarify in front of them. Never shoot guess answers at them. Smile,
even if you don't know the answer. Just simply say " I don't know " rather than confusing with wrong
answer to show them your false confidence. Be confident about your rights and honest about what you
don't know.
