Please read through this information sheet thoroughly and in its entirety. Included with this letter you will find your Application for Horse Camp, Horse Camp Rules and Regulations, and a Code of Conduct-Member Agreement-Parent/Guardian Agreement Form. Please fill the online registration at http://ut.4honline.com If you are not able to use the online registration then use the paper forms complete with signatures in the appropriate areas or use Dates: The dates for camp are Tuesday through Thursday, June 9th, 10th, and 11th. Stall set-up and assignment is Tuesday, June 9th promptly at 7:00 am. The last day of camp, Thursday, June 11th, the campers will participate in an English Schooling Horse Show. A final schedule will be sent out after registration to confirm the schedule. Theme: This camp is for those who want to practice English Riding. Meals at camp will be potluck-style for lunch and dinner, with 4-H supplying the “meat”. Breakfast will be continental-style provided by 4-H. Snacks and beverages will also be provided. Potluck assignments for desserts and side dishes will be mailed out in the camp confirmation letter. Volunteers are invited to eat meals with the campers. Families are invited to camp out in designated areas. If a family does not have camping accommodations for sleeping, a fairground building will be available for sleeping. Showers are available. Eligibility: To attend 4-H Horse Camp, youth must be in their second year in Horse 4-H (or longer) plus have successfully passed off Tenderfoot Ranks I and II. (These ranks need to be signed off by your 4-H club leader) Youth who are in their first year of Horse 4-H will be able to attend First Step camp on June 22, 2015. Fees & Requirements: The price for Horse Camp is $65 per camper if paid by April 17th, and $80 if paid after April 17th, and by May 1st. There is an additional separate fee of $75 that may be refunded if certain criteria regarding stall set up, take down and volunteer positions are met. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER MAY 1st. All campers will be required to supply parent or adult volunteer(s). A sign-up sheet for volunteer positions will be mailed with your camp confirmation letter after all applications are turned in. T-shirts: Each camper will receive a free t-shirt. If you want an extra t-shirt for your camper for another family member, please order it on the Horse Camp Application. Extra t-shirts are $15 each, and must be paid for with the returned Horse Camp Application form. (Shirt fee can be added to the $60 camp fee on the same check.) Horses: All horses must be immunized to attend camp, worming and resetting of shoes or trimming within 4 weeks of camp. All horses will be inspected at camp registration before being allowed in their stalls. Horses showing signs of sickness, distress, or not properly cared for (this includes trimming or shoeing) will not be allowed to participate in camp. Equipment: An equipment list for the classes will be included in your camp confirmation letter. English tack is preferred, but Western tack will be accepted, but rider will be limited to ground poles. Forms: Please return the following to the 4-H office by 5:00 pm on April 17th or through 4-H online.com. (A late fee of $15 will be charged if received after April 17th. Long pants, jeans, or britches for riding- no shorts for riding. All campers are asked to stay at camp at all times. If for any reason a camper needs to leave, they must sign a release and give to Barbara Campers found to have left camp without permission will not be allowed back to camp. Campers are not allowed to drive while at camp. Appropriate clothing is to be worn at all times. Suggestive or revealing clothing is not allowed. Cell phone will be allowed, but you can only use cell phones (this includes text message) at appropriate times. No cell phones during instructional time or when activities are being conducted. Cell phones will be confiscated and returned at the end of camp if you are using them at these times. Please use this privilege wisely! If you need to contact your child you may call the chairperson Barbara Bedingfield 435-757-4208. Campers agree to be respectful of fellow campers, instructors, leaders, their horses, and property! No DRAMA please. Campers are asked to be open-minded and participate in all activities presented at camp. Safety always comes first! SEI Helmets are required at all times while on horseback for all classes. All Bio Safety 4H rules will be followed. All Campers will need to have a volunteer donate time at Camp. Plan on two – two hour shifts. A schedule will be sent after your registration is received and slots will be filled on a first come basis.
