When we Blow Bubbles for Autism together, we create a new awareness of families facing autism. We are a 501 (C) 3 registered non-profit organization in Southern New Jersey comprised of parents, siblings, and professionals who know that awareness is the beginning of acceptance. Bubbles make people happy, so why not make a difference AND be happy? People all over the world will be blowing bubbles of support on April, as they have for the past ten years. Last year, we had over 57,000 people join us. “Burst the Bubble” of autism Come join us and “Burst the Bubble” World Autism Awareness Day Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects the way people and children communicate, interact and connect with the world around them. For someone with an ASD, bubbles have significance in the early childhood years through to adulthood. They can be used in activities for skill development and the figurative expression of feelings of isolation and in a technique for developing communication skills. Blow Bubbles -- We are asking businesses and students in schools to help out the FACES 4 Autism by spreading autism awareness in the form of glycerin bubbles across the sky as messages of hope to families dealing with autism. • 2. Make A Ribbon -- This year, we are again challenging you to create human autism ribbons at your locations, and share the photos on social media, and with the press. Show them that we are autism friendly! • 3. Call the Media! Make t-shirts, signs, posters, have contests, coloring pages, read books about autism. Send us your photos to post on our Facebook page and we will share ours with you! • 4. Raise money for local Autism Support Groups. We have expanded our focus to include fundraising since many of the students have been creating their own fundraisers for us. Last year, students raised over $3,000 with dress-down days, selling awareness “puzzle” pins, designing t-shirts, having awareness carnivals, walk-a- thons, and even pretzel sales. Contact us for ideas at [email protected] • 5. Tell US what you do. Designate a chairperson for the event, and we will be happy to help out with links, speaker ideas, autism information sheets, flyers, handouts, and even ideas! We hope to garner your support this year. Thank you for time, and we hope to hear from you soon! DONATE: We believe in LOCAL support. It is local money helping people with autism now! Reach out to your LOCAL autism organizations, and help them today. If you need help finding your local group, please contact us and we will find out for you. Last year’s Bubbles Day monies helped children and families with autism to attend special trainings for autism all over the world to educate teachers and families on autism, and to offer children the chance to play at special events just for them. CONTACT US: Send us your photos and ideas by Email or Post them on our Blow Bubbles 4 Autism Facebook page! We will feature them on FACES4Autism.org, too. Weston School 2014 !
