spiced up with pinwheels, canvas and gemstones.
Chalkboard
Place chalkboard paper in a frame, and embellish with handmade banners
and oh-so-cute pinwheels. What a great place to write your menu!
Pinwheels
Galore!
These circular sensations are the latest craze,
and we’ll show you how to make
them yourself!
TRY THIS TOO!
• Use decorative scissors to cut scrapbook paper into placemats.
• Cut strips of scrapbook paper to link into simple paper chains. They’ll function as patriotic garlands.
• Use a paper punch to create your own Fourth of July confetti.

Pinwheels By You!
Banner
Creative freedom? It doesn’t get any cuter than this! Jazz up your patriotic bash
with embellishments and trimmings…and oodles of trendy pinwheels.
Check out our step-by-step photos, then get inspired by
these flag-waving, pinwheel-packed project ideas.
Step 1
Accordion-fold a strip of paper. Note: Width and length of paper will
depend on the size of pinwheel you wish to create.
Step 2
Cupcake Picks
Want to dress up your party
snacks? Use dowel rods topped
with polka-dot pinwheels for
custom-made cupcake picks!
Condiment Bottles
Strips of patterned paper and rows of self-adhesive gemstones
shine on plain-Jane mustard
and ketchup bottles.
When the entire strip of paper is folded, adhere the ends
together to form a circle.
Straw
Say hooray for a straw! To
make this look, create a
simple wrap-around pennant
from patriotic paper.
Step 3
With the back side of the paper up, gently push down on
the center of the circle to form the pinwheel.
Soda Bottles
Add some pop to your soda pop
with a polka-dot pinwheel,
some star-studded paper and a
shiny self-adhesive gemstone.
Step 4
To hold the shape, adhere a punched circle (or any
small piece of paper) to the back of the pinwheel,
as shown. Be sure that the center of the
pinwheel is tightly pushed together as you glue.
And you’re done! Simply layer
or embellish as desired.
Spell out your love of freedom with a handmade
banner. Ours features gingham ribbon, foam
alphas, and stacks of paper pinwheels.
Napkin Rings
A star-spangled pinwheel adds pizazz to basic, plastic utensils. Use one on a simple paper napkin ring.
Popcorn Cones
Handmade paper cones, displayed in an altered box top, are
great for dishing out patriotic treats like candy or popcorn!
