BINOMIAL PROBABILITY

Abinomialprobabilitydistribution resultsfroma
procedurethatmeetsallthefollowingrequirements:
1. Theprocedurehasafixednumberoftrials.
2. Thetrialsmustbeindependent.(Theoutcome
ofanyindividualtrialdoesn’taffectthe
probabilitiesintheothertrials.)
3. Eachtrialmusthavealloutcomesclassifiedinto
twocategories.Thesecategoriesareusually
“success”or“failure”.
4. Theprobabilityofasuccessremainsthesamein
alltrials.

Whencalculationswithsamplingarevery
cumbersomeandthesamplesizeisnotmore
