Orientation Group Gathering and Group Pictures
Meet your New Student Leader (NSL) and experience group
bonding activities. Please find your NSL at the Oak Room
Patio and proceed to your gathering location.
Students admitted to the Honors Program will meet with
faculty and fellow Honors Students over lunch. Please note
that honors students will not meet for lunch with their
Orientation group.

Academic Planning Overview/Informal Faculty Time
In Orientation groups, you will spend some time meeting a
faculty member. This is the chance to ask ANY questions
about classroom life, faculty support, expectations of
students, and anything else you would like to know. In
addition, you will learn the academic components of
Orientation and become aware of academic expectations
at Fairfield. Additionally, you will be introduced to the Core
Curriculum and examples of ways to use it to shape your
academic journey.

Orientation Groups AA-YY: Dinner
You will join the deans’ staff members from Fairfield’s four
undergraduate colleges and schools to discuss curriculum,
requirements, and policies relating to your academic
interests. Academic advising facilitators will assist you in
beginning to build a fall course schedule in preparation
for registration on Day 2 of Orientation. You will learn more
about Cornerstone courses and FYE seminars, as well as
resolve any language and math placement questions.

cotton candy, music and more! Featuring John Rush as
Human iPod: You choose songs from two HUGE request
books. You pick songs you want to hear and write or text your
request Between songs, Rush reads off three or four requests
and plays the next song based on the audience’s choice.

Stay Connected Socially
Now that you’ve discussed what courses to take, you will
register online via my.Fairfield. Faculty, staff, and students
are available in each computer lab to help you through
the process. Please note that you must come with your
Orientation group during the time block that you are assigned.
You must also bring your academic planning sheet from Day 1
to assist with your registration process. When not registering,
you may attend sessions with your parent/guardian(s), visit
the Information Fair in the BCC Oak Room, or meet with your
NSL. Remember to attend the important closing meeting.
