Lanner Methodist Church Palm Sunday 29 March 2015 Lectionary Reading for today: “Your attitude should be the kind that was shown us by Jesus Christ, who, though he was God, did not demand and cling to his rights as God, but laid aside his mighty power and glory, taking the disguise of a slave and becoming like men. And he humbled himself even further, going so far as actually to die a criminal’s death on a cross. Yet it was because of this that God raised him up to the heights of heaven and gave him a name which is above every other name, that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2: 5-11 Living Bible 9.30am Praying Together 10.30am: Rev Lyn Wills (Chapel Anniversary) Please join us for coffee in the Hall following morning worship. We are always looking for volunteers and if you feel you might like to join us, why not come to see what we are all about? You will be made very welcome and should you want to give volunteering at Gwennap Pit a try we can promise it's neither difficult nor dull. If you can make a cup of tea and offer a smile - that's about it! (Oh yes and wash a cup or two... - well, there's always a catch, isn't there?). Thank you, God, for the precious gift of memory. Thank you for the ability to recall past blessings and glimpses of grace; to remember Scripture, favourite hymns, sacred poetry and prose; for memories that encourage and comfort, warn or restrain. Help us to deal positively with memories of our past failures and regrets, and the legacy of hurts and abuse. We pray for those whose memory is impaired by accident, illness or advancing years; hold them securely, Lord, in your remembrance, that in you they may yet be whole and complete. Amen.
