Present-day college freshman and devout Christian, Josh Wheaton, finds
his faith challenged on his first day of Philosophy class by dogmatic and
argumentative Professor Radisson. Radisson begins class by informing
students they will need to disavow, in writing, the existence of God on that
first day, or face a failing grade. As other students in the class begin scribbling
the words "God Is Dead" on pieces of paper as instructed, Josh finds himself
at a crossroads, having to choose between his faith and his future.
God's Not Dead will educate, entertain, and inspire you to explore what you
really believe about God, igniting important conversations and life-changing
decisions.

resurrection.
 Worship with Randy, Dale and Friends in the fellowship hall was an absolute joy!
 You gladly made way for others from the parking lots to the pews and
 You welcomed everyone with a smile, kind words, and encouraged them to return.
So thanks for all you’re doing to show and share the Good News about Jesus. I know that
foremost, we all give thanks to Him for being the reason behind everything we do.

Easter is our reminder that fullness in Christ and life abundant are free gifts from Jesus’
sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection from the grave. Our North American missionaries
are using as many means possible to reach people with the Good News that’s grounded in
Easter. You can help #FuelTheGospel for our North American missionaries by ...
 Between now and Mother’s Day, whenever you’re pumping gas, pray for the missionaries
we support in the U.S. and Canada. Ask God to open doors for the Good News about
Jesus in dark and lost places.
 Donate the cost of one gallon, five gallons, or even an entire tank of gas to the Annie
Armstrong Offering at church. Here we pool our monies with other congregations to
give church planters resources to reach their communities.
We’re halfway to our $10,000 goal. I predict we’ll surpass it before Mother’s Day!

CHILI'S GIVE BACK EVENT
benefitting FBG's Children's Camp
April 13, 11am-9pm

Flyers available in the church office the week of
April 6. With each flyer presented on Monday,
Chili's will donate 10% of the event day sales to our
children's camp fund.
Say YES to an opportunity for service on
Saturday, April 25, when First Baptist will
sponsor a booth on the square as a part of
the city’s Squarefest. You are needed for a
two hour period to staff the booth. You can
volunteer by calling Vicki in the church office
(452-5715).
Training events are on April 15 or April 22,
at 4:30pm in the LOFt. Training events are
identical. Attend only one.

Thursday, April 16: monthly fellowship and potluck meal with Kimberly Lynn from the
Better Business Bureau who will inform us about scams targeting senior adults. Meeting
begins at 10:30am in the fellowship hall.
Thursday, May 21: Board the bus at 10am to Crossville for lunch and to see Singing in the
Rain at the Cumberland County Playhouse. Cost is $22 per person plus lunch. Reservation
required.
Thursday, June 18: Summer picnic at 6pm in our new covered pavilion. Please bring your
favorite side dish, homemade ice cream, or dessert. Chicken will be provided. Also, bring
your outdoor games and instruments (guitar, banjo, etc.). We’ll have fun playing and
singing. You can sign up in your LifeGroup the first of June or you may call the church office
to let us know you're coming.
Thursday, July 16: Milky Way Farm, Pulaski, Tennessee ... board the bus at 8am. We'll tour
the 25,000 square foot Tudor mansion, have lunch there, and, if weather permits, we will
tour the farm on a hayride. Cost is $25 per person. On the way home, we'll stop in Lynnville,
Tennessee, which has the motto, "striving to be the best small town in America." There will
be time to visit unique and antique shops, a leather shop, and Soda Pop Junction for ice
cream. Reservation required. Contact Deanna in the church office.

Breathe: Making Room for Sabbath: One of the greatest challenges among women
in our culture is taking time to stop and cease from all the activities and busyness and just
breathe. We miss the moments because we rush ahead to the next thing. By neglecting
time for tranquility, serenity, and repose, we limit our Christlikeness and miss out on some
of God's greatest gifts. It is time for us to breathe and build margin into our lives for God.
God doesn't just want us legally free; He wants us to be able to walk in freedom and enjoy it.
So God gave us many gifts, including boundaries in which to enjoy those gifts. Sabbath was
intended as a gift, and it is still a gift to us today. If you are weary, worn out, and exhausted
the concept of Sabbath will change your life. Christy Tignor will guide this ladies study.
The Power of God's Names: A name not only expresses the essence and significance
of what is being named but also—when duly authorized—accesses the capacity intrinsic
within it. Because of God's depth of character, He has a variety of names to reflect His
different capacities of relating to us. God is called Elohim when referenced as the allpowerful Creator. When you need provision, get to know the name Jehovah Jireh, which
means God, the Provider. God has a name for any and every situation you can find yourself
in. Get to know the names of God because it is in knowing His character and His capacity
that you will rest and discover both peace and power in His covenant care. Ralph Troutman
will lead this coed study.

The Tennessee Baptist Convention will host a regional
training event on April 18 at the State Mobilization Center in
Mt. Juliet. This is the only chance to get specialized training
classes. Please remember you must be certified through this
