,
The month of august has been a very special month for the
PYP. The children have gained a broad exposure to many
different areas of science including a initial understanding of
various other concepts. We have started up with 5 notebooks
for English so that the children are thorough in all the
concepts. These 5 books include story book, essay writing,
handwriting, letter writing and grammar..we have started
implementing various reading programs for the kids so that
each and every child becomes a perfect reader....
You can encourage your child to work on his/her
handwriting by making his/her practice in a fun way. Offer
your child a special pencil or a rainbow of coloured ones.
Don’t just give him/her a word to copy. Try simple word
puzzles, anagrams and a game of hangman or ask her/him to
brainstorm lists around a theme to give writing practice
purposeful. Make time every day to talk with your child
about the day’s activities. Encourage them to think and
reflect on their own learning.
Help them to do research by themselves to create an
inquiring mind.

We had a grammar exhibition on August 31 2013. It
was a very informative exhibition. The event started
with a breathtaking song on grammar, a book parade
and character parade where we met our favorite
characters. We also had many stalls with games
based on different grammar topics. Most of the game
stalls were about English grammar and one stall on
Hindi grammar and ICT grammar games. We learnt
much more about grammar as it was very
educational. Every class prepared lots of information
in their own stalls. Every class had selected their own
grammar topic and prepared magnificent game on it.
Some stalls also had more than one game.
Every game stall had prizes for winners, stickers of
starts and smileys. There was a mini library arranged
for students to visit and explore related books. All
the students had done a marvelous job. We
appreciated all the student leaders and our dear
teachers for the great and successful grammar
journey. We had a lot of fun playing these wonderful
grammar games which gave us lot of knowledge.

We the third graders are very excited to share our learning’s with you. In the month of
August we were busy celebrating our Independence day and preparation for our Special

by learning how body systems are interdependent and impact our lifestyle choices on
human body under the theme Who we are. We enjoyed being a part of different
activities. We were inquirers and enthusiastic during all the activities.
In Math, we learnt the concept of Weight, Length and capacity under the strand
‘Measurement’.
Daily Language
Every morning begins with language instructions. Lots of reading and writing activities
on spellings are being conducted in groups and individually. Our teachers are coaching us
to become confident presenters by giving chance to speak in Public during assembly
